I've been using various forms of linux desktop since 1998, now I have settled on arch/manjaro/lxde, I can get away with a cheap machine with only 4 gigs of ram and still do everything I want to with it. I use it for pro audio, writing and coding. For employers for a long time they would provide me with windows, and then in the 2010s that switched to Mac but both of those are intentionally bloated today. Linux Desktop is good for the environment.

This is especially sweet for owners of high end android tablets, where if you have an android 16 tablet you can then run both windowws legacy apps and full linux desktop on the same device.
