Ah the memories... I was doing in-home tech support and repair back in the day, and an elderly gentleman had let his seven year-old grandson use his Win 98 box unsupervised for 30 minutes or so. The end result looked just like win1998.com! I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to clean that thing and finally advised him to reinstall the OS.
Nothing wrong with them. I use them for a few names and inexpensive hosting. I've had a good experiences the few times I've used their chat-based support. I was saddened that there were some CSR issues when Russia invaded Ukraine, but the company routed around that.

Otherwise (for me) YT is a resource for guides on taking apart old laptops and other how-tos, along with the occasional movie on the kitchen tablet, while prepping a meal or washing up.
That is a little strange. Perhaps management and the developer team want to try to keep it as apolitical as possible? By the same token, it's pretty effortless to indulge in my penchant for conspiracies and call ChatGPT a MAGAI.

Script feels faster than block. Also, I enjoy using a good pen or pencil and just writing in script. My handwriting is OK. Funny thing though; If I use a pencil for writing it's better if I'm using a single sheet on a hard surface. When I use a pen my penmanship is better if I'm using several sheets of paper or a notebook.
Every once in a while I'll get a customer who is using older versions of a language. I keep my old books for these guys, especially after having to repurchase a few books used on amz.
Somewhere along the line I automatically started internally multiplying monthly payments into yearly payments. It really helps when I'm in the decision stage.

I am hired because I know what I am doing, not because I will do whatever I am told is a good idea. This might cost me bonuses, raises, promotions, and may even label me as "undesirable" by places I don't want to work at anyway, but I don't care. I will not compromise my own principles and judgement without putting up a fight. Of course, I won't always win, and I will sometimes be forced to do things I don't agree with, but if I am my objections will be known, and if I am shown to be right and problems later develop, I will shout "I told you so!" repeatedly, laugh hysterically, and do a small dance or jig as appropriate to my heritage.

I use a 1998 "Wallstreet" PowerBook G3 running OS 9.2 and MS Office 98 for word processing, some email, and spreadsheets. No Wi-Fi, so I tether it to another laptop via Ethernet.

Just my humble, but designers, like programmers, can grow as their knowledge and experience encompasses more techniques. From drawing to composition to color theory to typography to XHTML to CSS to Javascript to PHP to Perl to ASP.NET/C# etc, et, al.
So what kind of designer were you looking for?
BTW, from a visual design point of view, the classic education is to first use a monospace typeface at a single size, then use other typefaces and multiple fonts and weights, then get to the fancy curves and Photoshop bullshit. But honestly if the designer couldn't make it work in Courier, they may want to consider another career.
So there you go. Did you want gratuitous eye candy or did you want a talented and educated artist who also knew booleans, conditionals and how to hit up a database?
