Yea I remember that one, it is a great example and awesome talk.

However as far as presenters go, this guy is a bit of an outlier. He is also a teacher, he offers some python mastery classes in Chicago, so he is more practiced at explaining and working through example code.

"Personalized Features: Language" sounds like a lot of work for not much payoff. Halting the launch before translations are ready will get in the way of 'just shipping'. That said, probably a good idea to dev with js i18next even if all translations aren't ready.

Heh, I saw the "Supported Operating Systems" list (w/ Windows and MacOS X) and thought that was the OS that can be installed on device b/c of atom proc or something... but of course it was the supported client OS.

"well-rounded" CAN mean being good at two or three things, it doesn't mean that everyone should attempt to be a polymath.

Also, the point of being "well-rounded" wasn't to excel at all activities, but by not totally subsuming yourself in one activity you might achieve a broader perspective about experiencing life.

Considering the question in the OP, it is funny you brought up Einstein, Musk, and Jobs in your reply.

That sentence does seem out of place compared to the rest of the essay. If anything the thugs destroyed the thugs. His biggest contention is that "technologism" is a cultural infatuation with newness, and both digital music stores and record stores both used "newness" when advertising. And I guess that is what makes them "thugs" for reinforcing that view, as well as "nothing innovative about pandering for the sake of a profit".

Using Siri as a counter argument for self-driving cars completely misses the point. You ignore Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication and using a multitude of sensors besides phone GPS. IDK why you think Siri is the epitome of sophisticated trip pathing, there are better options out there and solutions that will continue to be improved.
