Not really age-ist. I am a member and invited to this app but I am over 30. There are lots of members of this particular community that are over 30. The only qualification was having attended the last summit, or presumably attending this years summit. It is an exclusive community which you get for the ticket price. So, you're mistaken.

You mean evidence like the 100s of hours of unexplainable phenomenon recorded each year (see google search of ufo video 2014). Including that which was release from classified status by an arm of our armed forces which chose to not only investigate, but to classify the investigation.

And for the record, we have more video and imagery of these unexplained phenomenon then we do of the giant squid. They, for whatever reason, just dont leave bodies floating up on the beaches.

Actually the few cases that remain unexplained are exactly that sort of evidence (or some other intelligent control). Sorry to say but you obviously havent looked at the actual evidence from military personal and equipment that show high speed right angle turns of devices that defy the laws of physics as we understand them. There are literally 1000s of cases on record about this that have been left in the unexplainable category.

Um, but if this phenomenon is a creature why wouldnt it try to stay out of sight? Further if 'things in the sky' are easier to find why were the bird of paradise only recently discovered and recorded? Answer: because their rare and prefer locations that arent very occupied by humans.

Hell we have whole tribes we've only just discovered. If something doesnt want to be found, its not impossible for it to stay hidden.

Thats just patently false. Anyone type UFO video 2014 in google. You will literally get 100s of hours of crappy film shot by people at the expected quality for anyone trying to shoot a moving ariel object with a cell phone. There has been NO drop off of sighting reported or videos created.

My guess is YOU stopped paying attention b/c xfiles was no longer cool...

Information overflow causes people to ignore even the most dire and well recorded parts of science (see climate change). Why would this be any different? Its socially taboo. Its also scientifically taboo. There are lots of ways to fake imagery these days. People prefer to believe what they already believe even in the face of massive amounts of evidence to the contrary. Thats well proven.

Could you describe what constitutes credible evidence? Eye witness testimony is often consider credible evidence of crimes with life/death sentences.

From a scientific standpoint Im not sure what you'd need for something like this. After all up until recently the long standing testimony by pilots about sprites, elfs, ball lightning (atmospheric electrical phenomenon) and the like had no credible evidence except eye witness.

Further there is a ton, literally 1000s of hours of video and 1000s of images. Most are fake but many (including in the op report) remain unexplained. Its exceedingly unscientific in the face of unexplained evidence to simply say - 'nah nothing is happening there, lets just ignore it and the corroborating evidence and not investigate any further'.

Im not saying I know the answer, Im saying ignoring all the exceedingly large masses of information is ignorant. Exceedingly so when we literally have the evidence you're claiming doesn't exist (video and pictures gallore).

Monagamous TDD 12 years ago

I want to use TDD... its hard to take the leap and start the habits. What sources of information can clear up the 'crappy parts' of TDD (GUI testing, asych testing, etc) and inspire confidence that this will work for us? We are rails devs that use a bunch of front end wizardry and a lot of back end automation systems.

False. For this metaphor to work the richest guy would have to have been fed everyone's meal (by them) and then left varied numbered of fortune cookies for each of the others. The rentier society at work.

Remember in the real economy the top players get paid to hold on to the lower players money, or to lend one persons money to another person. They also benefit from a disproportionate amount of the tax dollars in the form of breaks, subsidies and even more importantly civil structures such as educated workers.

Actually corporations have an average life of 45 years. They aren't really that resilient. But then I'm reminded of the quote by Jefferson that government should be re written every generation so the new generation is not enslaved to the prejudices and mistakes of their elders. Perhaps this is the odd way in which that comes to pass.

Give me google glass and I'll start using my google plus account. Until then, FB is too convenient and ubiquitous.

Damn it! I commented on it earlier noticing some irregularities in the way the players moved... I just realized this was an april fools joke!

Add a twist to it. Make a specific licensing agreement that requires a payment to the Non-profit in the amount of .001% of profits in trade for use. You could even stipulate a floor and ceiling (minimum payment 10000 max 100000). Being a non-profit all the money returned should go directly into purchases of further patents. This could even be explicitly stated as part of the license agreement making it more of a paying it forward agreement.

The idea here is that you are getting a risk-less technology, but if you do hit it large you have to pay it forward in a very minimal amount. And of course you are afforded the 'patent umbrella' by utilizing tech you know is in a portfolio and properly documented/owned.

I would suggest finding a start up you like or other partners in whatever your interests are and then investing in them through phatom shares (consult a lawyer, its a fairly new construct).

You mentioned wanting to start a company with the money so find co-founders. From there create an operating agreement and register the company in a legal way that you can be an employee and owner (Inc, c-Corp etc). Obviously you will need to get a lawyer to do the appropriate wrangling but there are many ways to do this. Phantom shares, options etc.

Alternatively, you could do what one multi-national investor I know did and turn yourself into a company and sell shares of yourself to other investors. From there you can start up subsidiaries in whatever country through whatever standard private company (Inc, C-Corp) legal forms are permissible for a multinational to set up subsidiaries. Again consult appropriate lawyers, but I do know it is possible. This guy runs investment firms in India and America and has companies that run all over the place. It is possible when you have the money to do it. And if you want to create value its a good way to go if you find you have a nose for investments/opportunities.

Best of luck and congratulations on your new found wealth.
