Headless e-commerce has been growing lately. See the MACH Alliance [1] to find out about closed-source platforms in this space. One thing to note is that we can see more and more specialization, new categories, such as headless loyalty/PIM/search etc., appeared on the market. Earlier this year, I wrote a short article [2] explaining what problems these APIs try to solve (sorry for the clickbait title).

Thanks for this article. I'm interested in the way you marketed your product to developers in early daus. What problems did you face and how fast did you grow in the first year? I'm currently looking for kind of a benchmark to compare if our API-first platform is on a good track.

Say hello at jobs@voucherify.io Please mention HN.

At http://voucherify.io (API platform) we try to follow Zencoder's advice

http://blog.zencoder.com/2012/05/31/selling-to-developers-is...

To put it in a nutshell, this means generating valuable content and implementing helpful libraries and integrations. Then we try to share it with our target (developers, technical product managers, CTOs) through ProgrammableWeb, GitHub and Quora. See e.g.

We're a team of 3.

Well, although it seems doable in a reasonable time, there’re a few things you need to take care of from dev perspective e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22333237/generating-uniqu...

But from what we've gathered so far the most time-consuming thing for software developers (especially in e-commerce industry) is the maintenance phase. Meaning - the time when voucher campaigns are “in production”. Marketing team wants to stop the campaign as asap as possible, customer service team has to handle another customer coupon complaint, management wants to know the ROI of campaigns and so on. This is what our platform help solving too.

SEEKING WORK - Poland - REMOTE

My name is Michał, I am a co-founder of rspective, a small software house located in Katowice, Poland. We are looking for a long-term business partner.

What do we do? We offer custom software development services: web applications, mobile apps, backoffice systems, software integrations.

What makes us different? We do things that really move the needle. We are pragmatic. We continuously adapt to what makes sense for your business. We value simplicity and transparency. Thanks to all that, we make things happen in no time. And we can do rocket science - yep, we've done that before!

The less custom software, the better. We'd rather use large building blocks, SaaS services, opensource modules, than write a ton of custom code that would soon turn cumbersome in maintenance.

Speaking of skills and technologies? Our team is truly cross-functional. We have expertise in lots of areas. Lightweight node.js web apps, angular.js front-ends, cloud-ready architecture, Android & iOS apps, SQL and NOSQL databases, heavy Java backends, Ruby spikes, dev-ops, full-text search solutions, performance and scalability, one-click deployments.

We love to leverage cloud services to do the heavy lifting. We have experience integrating dozens of SaaS services incl. CRM, CMS, online payments, PaaS, DBaaS, online storages, phone providers, email infrastructure, map providers, etc.

For some more details along with our portfolio - please check out our website http://rspective.pl
