For me a VM set up via UTM works quite well on my Mac. Just make sure you do not virtualize x86, that kills both performance and battery life. This way I get the nice battery life and performance in a small packge but am not limited by MacOs for my development.
You can certainly use AI to tick boxes.
Need a caption on an image or video? AI will generte it for you! But the quality is a different question. Is the caption correct? Is the caption usefull? In my test with images it was roughly 60/40 on the correctness.
On the other hand. If you force a company to provide those captions. They might use the cheapest provider. If they do a better job is anyones guess.
There is an announcement for a convertible 12“ Framework Laptop. Sadly only a signup so far without details above the YouTube video.

Seems like an advert for their Product SPR: Secure Programmable Routers. I don't know their system, so don't see the rest of my comment as a critique.
If your systems supports VLAN tagging per SSID there is an option to make the single Router setup more secure. This will most likely only apply to companies and home labs. For example at my company we have Zyxel gear were we can tag WLAN connections with a VLAN based on the SSID.
Beware, simplified description ahead. We have a Guest SSID. All connections from this SSID get tagged with a dedicated VLAN on the Access Points. The traffic is then routed to our Firewall and from there to the internet. All switches in between use the VLAN to prevent Guest connections from reaching any other devices on the LAN.
My best Markdown experience so far on iPad is with Working Copy. It is primarily a Git client.
The preview mode handles pictures well, but for editing you are stuck with a basic code editor. Using the preview mode I can even navigate to other notes in the same repository via links in the notes.
Might not work for your use case. If it sounds interesting, give it a try.
For some time I used a Samsung Galaxy Book 12 (similar computer to a surface tablet computer).
For my use cases it was definitely the wrong choice. The tablet is quite heavy, so use as a tablet was very limited for me and due to the keyboard design it is also bad as a notebook.
I think the integrated stand of the Surface would at least allow you better use as a drawing tablet when you detach the keybord.
My sweet spot is a decent Notebook plus an iPad Mini for Notetaking (Goodnotes) and drawing.
Have you looked into "simple" drawing tablets. For example, from Wacoom?
If you are looking for a tablet in addition to your computer I would also recommend the iPad.
Out of curiosity, what did you switch to?
The service might not cost money to try. When you want to properly evaluate this tool for your team though, there will be quite a bit of time invest.

I understood the advise to only apply to emails you forward not to emails you reply to.
With replying I would be careful about changing the subject line too. With a forward I send it to new people, as if it were a new mail. In this context it makes sense to me you might also give it a more appropriate subject line.
For example you get a newsletter. One news item is relevant for a friend of yours. You forward the newsletter and with the subject line you direct his attention to the item that is most relevant for him.
Interesting concept of separating your identity from the ID used to vote.
There is one problem though. With the QR code you would be able to show someone how you voted. Thus making it possible to coerce or buy votes.
I can see a few points that a consultancy can sell
* Insights across the companies competitors (because they have / had engagements with them)
* Insights from other industries / markets
* Experience with a certain situation (assuming similar trends happen in different industries at different times)
Employees of the company might have similar knowledge but distributed across many instead of focused in the consultant team.
I guess it would be about the ratio of the price for the screen compared to the device. Smartwatch at 600$ with a small screen vs. a smartphone at 1000$ but with a 10x bigger screen. With 10 smartwatches I would have 6000$ to spread the additional cost over.

To me it depends. You might not actually want to produce your own screens, or what ever else you currently buy instead of making it yourself. Because that would require dedicated resources, diverted from your core competencies. But you might have someone, or a small team, look into it. Work out what you might need to do, what it is going to cost. Then you take that research and knock on your suppliers door and ask for a better price. I'm not saying that is what is happening here, but it could be a viable negotiation strategy.

Can't speak for parent, but when I find an interesting subject I'll read up on it. I Might even buy books in the field. While my primary motivation is curiosity, you never know when knowing a specific thing might come in handy. Or you might be able to apply some principles in a different field.
Of course time is limited, so when deciding if I'm going to invest the time I do a quick check on ROI. How much time do I think I'll have to invest. This depends on how much I know in the general area of the subject and how specialized I assume the subject to be. So basically how much time do I have to spend to learn the required vocabulary. I value that against how useful I assume the knowledge to be. Can I directly apply the new knowledge, or do I assume it to have synergies with my main subject of interest.
But sometimes a subject is so interesting to me that learning about it is its own reward.

Depends on your definition of opt-in. The app has to 'sign up' with the push notification service of the plattform to receive push notifications. But most apps do this by default. I guess that in most cases this makes sense. most people who install an instant messaging app want to be notified of new messages.
But there are also the Chromebook and Surface Book, so it`s hardly the only one going with this theme.
I used to work at a big company's inhouse development. We had many developers coming from either consultancies or agencies. The department and the developers would have been happy to cut out the middle man but policy dictated using the agencies. In my opinion it has to do with the people making up the rules thinking of developers as interchangeable. So they want a contract with a firm, stating that this firm will provide a developer with skill X for duration Y.
But those weapons exist and research continues. They are just not used (at the moment).
You could argue that a state would own an AI and just not use it to direct attaks.
