There is (was?) a bike shop in Pittsburgh, Kraynick's Bike Shop [1], where you could bring your bike and use their tools. It was nice, and I appreciate the DIY ethics and generosity.
A genuine question, what are the use cases for Tesla's Optimus robots? Are they consumer products that help with household chores, industrial robots for warehouses or manufacturing, a play toy, something else?
California now has a law that requires browsers to have an opt-out setting (effective in 2027) [1]. So far, websites are required to respect opt outs via browser settings or extensions in California, Connecticut, and Colorado [2]. That is also the case for New Jersey [3].

I absolutely agree! Pirates was my favorite game on the Amiga 500. You could really imagine being in the Caribbean. This was also one of my first exposures to classical music [1].
Since I do not need it and kept accidentally enabling tab groups I looked for a way to turn it off. You can do so by setting browser.tabs.groups.enabled and browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled to false in about:config.
There can be big differences in radiation doses depending on the type of CT scanner used. Some radiology practices advertise low-dosage scanners [1]. So, if you need a CT scan you can ask for the dosage and find a practice that has a low-dosage scanner.

It is an interesting thought. What could be new business models for sites that currently rely on third party advertising? It seems big publishers are increasingly moving to first party advertising. But that seems difficult for small publishers.
While advertising messages may not be themselves particularly important for free speech and can be even detrimental to it, e.g., propaganda, sites themselves disseminate speech and are often third-party ad-financed. What could be a good business model for them (other than direct payments)?
That is also the reason why patents are of limited duration.

This bill was about Global Privacy Control (GPC) [1], which sites and mobile apps are required to respect under the California Consumer Privacy Act. The law is enforced by the Office of the California Attorney General [2]. There is a draft specification at the W3C [3].

As a successor of Do Not Track, there is Global Privacy Control (GPC) [1]. Sites must respect it by law in California. An increasing number of other states ---Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, and hopefully more soon --- also have provisions in their new privacy laws for privacy preference signals like GPC. You can check if a site respects GPC [2]. For example, lego.com and nfl.com are two bigger ones I recently came across.

I was a BlockFi customer. I always had the sense that they wanted to do the right thing. They hired people with risk experience in traditional banking, had real customer support, engaged with regulators to get their interest rate product certified, etc. It is really a bit sad that they got entangled into the FTX situation. (I should also say that I withdrew my funds earlier. Otherwise, I may feel differently.)
I am an academic researcher, and we used BuiltWith.com for a project. Gary and Andrew added various technologies that I suggested to them (for a non-paying customer no less). So, great experience!
You could look for academic conferences in your area of interest and see what people are working on [1]. It is not necessary to have particular degree for submitting your work to a conference. Since most review processes are double-blind no one would know at submission time anyways. Though, knowing the process and how a "typical" paper looks like, on which people in academia have an advantage, certainly helps a lot.

I was able to find a good dentist by checking whether they offer CEREC. Of course, this is only anecdotal. But it worked for me a handful of times. I'd like to think, if a dentist is offering specialized services, that may serve as a proxy for their competency.
For me the key is intuition. I do what feels right. If you come across something that you like, do it.
