I wanted to point out the same thing around socializing. We set aside 15 minutes for standup. The business part of standup takes 5 minutes and folks get to hear what their colleagues have been up to at work or outside. Its critical for a remote organization in my eyes.

The way the author talked about standup made me think they are a developer/designer/maker. The 15 mins of standup cost way more than 15 mins if its at an inopportune time. This can be where async standups help out. Get the information out without disrupting someones day.

His stuff is easy to understand and helps me work through some of the difficult problems of creating a company from scratch.

The article pointed out the app just flips some flags to allow you to use functionality built into Android or the search app. Also, Google is just pulling it from the app store. Worst case, we are back to using a third party app to enable it or finding the apk.

People are only reaching out to encryption from private companies because the justice department is not being kept in check when it comes to getting warrants. If he wants companies to stop incorporating high levels of encryption into their products, stop making their customers(also called citizens) feel like they need it.

Homeschooling is great but a lot to ask of parents. My mom managed to stay very active in my education despite being a single mother working all the time. A few of my friends mothers were the same. I think if they would have been given the chance to understand the status of our entire class(where we were deficient or doing well), they may have organized in a similar way.

You will be working with our team of developers, designers, and subject matter experts to build software that solves real problems. We build in an agile manner with direct user feedback as part of our design/development cycle. You will have the opportunity to mentor others on the team while working with our senior developers. Our current stack leans towards Angular on the client side and Rails on our API server. Our developers are a curious sort though, so we will continue to adjust our stack as new technologies emerge.

As our front end expert you should be able to create directives, resources, services, controllers, and all the other fun parts of Angular with ease. We use package managers and build systems. We like speeding things up by using Bootstrap or Foundation, so familiarity would be great. Getting the most out of SASS and LESS will also help. Do you like automated testing? Us too! We use Jasmine, Karma, and CircleCi. We also can’t get enough of Github and have a strong code review culture.

The biggest take away I saw in your article was, do your research about the journalists you are going to pitch(or in your case get lucky by knowing someone). Making sure you are the story they want to write about is sure to increase your chances.
