Remote is not the end all, hybrid is likely here to stay. And NYC is best place to live/work as a young person...At home all day on the computer? Sure rather have thousands of options for the evening instead of a dozen..
Lol everyone in here is such a baby...We spend $500k a day on FB with great support; platform rarely breaks for us as we get features later.
If you're spend $100-1000 a day you get tests and early UI/UX. Spend more get out of the baby support tiers. Someone has to the best test bed.. might as well be the smallest clients.

Maximize for learning and personal growth. Startups provide the best place for this. If you have any dreams of being a founder your self, you need to spend time in trenches.
If you are a "career" man or woman, I still say spend 4-10 years at startups, then go grind with the usual suspects. By spending time at a startup you acquire a diverse/well rounded set of skills that make you an exceptional team member at big companies down the road. Forget an MBA at anything but a top tier university, do startup(s).
I really loved Yahoo Pipes - Was ahead of its time if you ask me..Built some very cool automations on top of this. Basically was IFTTT and Zapier well before them.
