I've been released 2 years ago and no I've been unable to find a gig. No one would reply lol. I m doing open source projects, ai and indie games. I've got more stress Cred than before. I think getting back to Normie workforce in police state such as us is impossible. Peace man

I started playing piano in 2018 and now it's part of my daily routine. I would recommend this to folks how are looking where to invest time to. Mastering an instrument takes years, but it's progress and dopamine.

I'm curious whether AI aligns with startups. IMHO it does not well. It aligns with academia where time flow differently.

Business then takes what an academia produces -- i.e. papers / methods / algorithms and implements it to generate value for customers.

It doesn't align with startups as well in case if you have a method and require a lot of compute to produce a model -- you need capital for compute and that's not a typical garage startup.

I'm really curious whether there is any opportunity left for YC-sized startups in AI.

I lot of really cool developments happen on github -- but again that's open source, not ventures to generate money.

I have experienced a major schizophrenia for 5 years starting in 2015 and since that I never attempted dating or having interpersonal relationships. Now it's a part of my personality.

I won't go in detail though. I don't feel any negative emotions or have any thoughts about that as I'm using antidepressants to shut down the libido.

After some biohacking I feel a competitive advantage in social realm and view this as a gift. There's non-compete for women, no social racing for status, and it all boils down to fundamental values. That's super christian catholic way of life, and I'm fine with it now.

What I was expecting initially is that someone will check on me, but that never happened.

We are about to get nuked. Only this time nuke is AI that remove any meaning from our so-called high life. I'm thinking moving to Hydarabad to fry samosas. Fortunately won't be automated.

There's much more than LLMs -- RL, Robotics and graphs. AI hasn't reached mainstream gamedev yet, and general adoption among devs is low. I find it hard to convince my fellow devs from old time (web, startups) to invest their time to learn AI.

    Dear Hiring Manager at ---,

I am writing to apply for the role of Pornstar. With my background in computer programming and experience co-founding an --- venture, I believe I have the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this position.

I have five years' experience working as a self-employed developer, designing neural networks, reinforcement learning algorithms, robotics software and more. During this time, I've gained valuable insight into the porn industry that will help me significantly when it comes to my job as a Pornstar. In addition to this, I have also been involved in various research projects related to AI and game development which have given me useful technical knowledge that can be applied directly to porn production.

AI is huge, but this one I think is about Reinforcement Learning. Udacity has a nice paced course that's possible to complete in 2-3 months without mental overload. It's focused on Reinforcement Learning problem definition, Dynamic Programming and hands on with foundational algorithms such as DQN, PPO, SAC and Monte-Carlo Tree Search.

Auto-encoders, Transformers and Recurrent models don't pop up much in RL except for advanced topics and cutting-edge research.

So this in interesting approach when a model-free algorithm would try to learn a simulator (state->state transition model).

Danijar has DreamerV2 and robot-dog application of Dreamer on his github, for those interested in implementation.

I used to have such period in my life, and later turned to a previous one (described by OP).

One of things I practiced is a humanities-day when I would go to a museum, and be disconnected for the most part of the day.
