Essentially, a mandate for automated cert renewals. Not a bad thing.
I think something like this is obviously the future. I'm looking forward to writing into some UI "schedule a dental cleaning appointment ASAP any nearby clinic" for it to just work.

Surrounded by scandals, Trudeau passed a law that had an oh-so-unintentional side-effect of hiding news from many people’s primary news source.
It’s hard to not be cynical about it.
Moot point because Trudeau basically banned all news from being shared on Facebook

It’s insane how fighting a DMCA notice can have serious consequences, but sending frivolous DMCA notices does not.
Would you feel the same about a kill shelter called "save the kittens inc"?
Troisieme is the third when counting. “Tiers” is the third when taking a fraction.
I can only speak to modern french though.

Because improvements in technology would decrease expenses at a rate faster than inflation.
Im guessing that was the idea.
The reasonable course of action is to pick one of the three rewrites that codify a proposed interpretation of the currently ambiguous rules.
What would be unreasonable is to give those 3 options to a judge and ask them to do a coin toss on which one is right, and then let it sit that way.
I may be radical in this, but I wish the judiciary could force the legislative branch to decide on what the law they wrote means.
The problem aren’t interpretative courts, its unclear laws.
The pencil example is all fun and games, but swap « buying mechanical pencils » with « sending people to prison », and then it makes more sense why some people prefer the judiciary branch to constrain the power of HR when there’s ambiguity.
Whats the problem? If congress disagrees with what the courts did to fill in the blanks in their laws, they just need to pass new laws.
Are you saying that you want to pay to be provided with harmful text
This existence of “harmful text” is a bit silly, but lets not dwell on it.
The answer to your question is that I want to be able to generate whatever the technology is capable of. Imagine if Microsoft Word would throw an error if you tried to write something against modern dogmas.
If you wish to avoid seeing harmful text, I think that market is well-served today. I can’t imagine there not being at the very least a checkbox to enable output filtering for any ideas you think are harmful.
Cracked software can contain extra features. Especially when delivered in this way.
How is it not true? Instead of tracking data and function calls over a unified stacktrace, you track Things and Messages over databases, queues, and logs —- none of which you can trivially attach a debugger to.
I generally like event-driven architecture, but I need to admit that debuggability is sacrificed where it matters most.
Clearly, but who is the post for? Is it for their parents, or their customers? It reads like the former.
These acquihire posts read so cheery. Why? You’re killing a product that at least 1 person depended on. Why are you pretending that this is exciting for them?
I just want to watch things without paying 5$ ppv or 100$ in combined subscriptions.
Charge me $15/mo to watch what I want and they would have my money forever. I would never torrent again.
This isn't targeted at OP. Sharing options doesnt mean that you shouldn't use the one this thread is about.
Which is probably part of the reason Flutter is getting shuttered. The Google brand is too unreliable to capture developer mindshare now.
Canada hit Meta with a similar law with the same, predictable result. It’s hard to not be cynical and thinking that the current government wants people to be less informed, as it hurts them in the polling.
No two applications can be the same, so thats beside the point.
Are you suggesting that talented people are a net negative on society?
Your point is unclear.
Test scores are meritocratic but looking at actual achievements is also meritocratic.
There's little difference in looking at test results and actual work which it is meant to proxy. At least in principle.
What if the Black student’s last name is Obama and the White student was an orphan?
I dont care, but they probably wouldve had good test scores.
The first and only question that matters: is this useful as a primitive?
Im inclined to say no. Signals seem like they are a UI concept, primarily. Just use any signal lib you want. Utility libraries dont really need to understand signals.
