This. I have been a big (and loud) fan of M-series hardware from the beginning, but if Apple is going to keep making their software worse, I will find myself lingering on older generations that run Asahi Linux or going back to a traditional x86_64 laptop instead of buying into new generations.
OpenBao maintainer here - The majority of these does affect us, more or less. Unfortunately it seems that we did not receive any prior outreach regarding these vulnerabilities before publication... make of that what you will. We've been hard at work the past days trying to get a security release out, which will likely land today.

Managing a selfhosting setup, homelab, distributed database deployment... anything that is simple enough not to need Kubernetes et al. yet needs containers running on multiple machines in coordination. While that's not hard to do, the idea here is to unify the configuration and the deployment process for each host into one.
I would not call Preferred Networks an "unknown startup" - They've been prominent within the AI research community for quite some time and have contributed important projects such as CuPy and Chainer, the latter introducing the "define-by-run" concept which was later implemented in frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow.
There is a "Disagree to all" button if you click "Learn More", but you only really find out about that after reading the entire popup. Quite hostile overall, yet I find the emphasis on the exact number of 721 advertising partners amusing.
I've been selfhosting SearXNG [0] for a few months and cannot complain. It's a meta search engine, i.e. collects results from a variety of underlying search engines including Google (if enabled).
The main selling points for me are:
- No ads
- Improved Privacy
- Open Source
- Customisability (Plugins, Search Engines)
I'm quite content with the search results even though they're not quite on par with the quality that Google used to have.
