A few years ago, I bought a Eufy robot vacuum. Less than a year later, one of the wheels stopped working: a known issue caused by faulty gears. When I reached out to Eufy, they told me the product had been discontinued, no parts were available, and they wouldn’t honor the warranty. So be careful with them.

You can bring ONVIF compatible camera into NVR, but you won't get any detections unless you use AI Key...

The price of the app at that time was $45, not $59, if my records are correct.

I bet you don't have to use old windows 10 which is not capable to restore windows on proper displays after I reconnect monitors... perhaps it's something disabled by my organization, but in macOS, at least I don't have to do this once twice a day.

In my org, we don't have access to WSL. All I have from "linuxy" things is bash from git installation and few other tools git includes. Not very fresh git. But that limiting factor of my org.

The problem I ran into most using windows, which I never had in macOS - inability sometimes to copy into clipboard, or paste from clipboard: pressing ctrl+c does not change clipboard to the currently selected text in VSCode, I have to press ctrl+c three four times before clipboard changes. I recall having to do this 15+ years ago, but why this is happening is mystery.

Another problem, if I restart my laptop when it connected to 1080p monitor, and then connect it to 4k monitor at home, some apps will not support HiDPI resolution and will show up in tiny font (PuTTY hell)... so no, it is not awesome. It is horrible. Was, is and always will.

We need to bury the news and we weren't ready on Friday (17th) evening; let's do it Wednesday evening, right before Thanksgiving instead.

When my 23 years old garage door opener failed to the point were it wasn't repairable, had to pickup new one. All decent ones comes with MyQ. Instead of using MyQ connection, I got extra 883LMW, opened it, soldered two wires to the button and connected it to my existing wifi door opener.

At $job we are forced to use [Autosys Job Automation](https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/i...). It can handle everything except 5, I think. But that somewhat huge system which hardly can be called cron replacement.

Never liked the Hue ecosystem. At some point I needed a motion sensor compatible with HomeKit. So went and got myself pretty cheap hue bridge and hue motion sensor only to find out (well, I should have done research probably) that motion sensor won't be able to paired with the bridge until at least one bulb is paired, so had to purchase cheapest bulb to get things working. it was still cheaper at the time comparing to other HomeKit only motion sensors.

I never got home assistant working, so got myself Hubitat hub (C7), which supports both Zigbee and Zwave radios and now exports them as HomeKit devices. So cheap sensors easy to pickup now are exposed to my HomeKit setup. That Hue motion sensor now directly connected to the the Hubitat and Hue bridge is somewhere in the box.

But at the time of setup, I was surprised that Hue Bridge didn't have an account. Didn't think about this until recent articles saying that account is now going to be mandatory.

Many years ago I ordered what I thought was a 256MB memory stick. But I received 32MB stick. I didn’t notice seller said Mb vs MB. You don't need to commit output into the git. I used pre-commit filter in git, where it will strip all output from the notebook before it was committed into repository. This allowed us to review the code changes of notebooks.

I had the same issue. Turns out it was caused by home network adblocker. Don't know why, but when I tried to cancel using my phone not connected to home wifi, everything worked. I never figured which rule was causing this problem...
