I’m a little drunk and I have not even read the article but I was discussing this very thing with my friends. We have so many stories and we are each going through so much struggle individually. Why can’t we be kind and considerate of each other?

I wonder if this could be converted into a web application, maybe using WASM? I'm sure a lot of people here want to try it out on their own, but for me the build process is daunting as I haven't written C++ since college days. A web application would be very accessible.

As an immigrant who walked everywhere where I grew up, this is one of the things I miss the most about living in America. Walkable neighborhoods are rare in most parts of the US, let alone the cities. I wish we had more places to walk. Sigh.

I was in the camp "this-is-bullshit" until recently. It felt backwards. We recently switched to Tailwind for one of our projects, and Tailwind was a delight to use, especially with its VS Code extension. Code readability is surprisingly not that big of a deal because we use components. Of course if you are looking at the raw HTML in chrome tools, it can get disorienting. For folks that are worried about having to learn yet another "language", the learn curve is pretty short.

Everyone here talking about super fast, but that's one thing I haven't complained about my stock calendar app. Wish there were more screenshots.

Paul Graham spoke about a similar idea in an essay about keeping your identity small.

I don't know. I follow PG on Twitter, and it doesn't seem like he keeps his identity separate from his ideas. He has some really good ideas and clearly he has thought about them for some time, but you can't budge him from his worldview. And worldviews are harder to change. [1]

Never heard of Cardinal either, and I like that they don't show typing status. If I see someone is typing in a Slack channel, or typing to me privately, it takes all my focus away until it is complete. Interesting though that they don't show their pricing on the website. Why's that?

But can it does it without the prompts? I'd be really impressed if you could have an AI spit out original story complete with plot.

As others have pointed out, licensing is unclear. It would be nice if each logo could link the official branding guidelines page when possible. For example, here are Twitter[1] and Spotify[2] branding guidelines.

As for if you can freely distribute these logos, I would consult a lawyer. It could be fair use, but I would not risk it.

This is one of the long form frontend blogs that I greatly enjoy, and learn sometime new every time. So, I am excited anytime a new one comes out. I hope with Josh releasing his own course[1], that the blog continues to provide excellent resources for "free".

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this. My login still works! I signed up for the original ProjectiFi when it came out but did not use it much. I am a heavy YNAB user and this type of software is right up my alley. I am going give this a whirl again.

I don't comment here on HN often, but this is impressive! It could be a game changer for someone like me who finds exercising indoors boring but could stroll outside for hours on end. I could see myself using this.

Here's a list:

- Waste of resources. - I don't think it will ever replace fiat when everybody is just HODL'ing. - Like any asset that appreciates massively, I am sour that I didn't buy when it was cheap. - Bitcoin made some people really rich, but wonder if it will leave a lot more people holding the bag when things spiral down. - Corollary to the above, the vast majority of people alive did not get a chance to participate in this by the virtue of tech know-how. It still propagates the rich-poor divide.

I had a similar problem with the mortgage insurance. I had to bring out my calculator to calculate the % it was asking for. Who pays mortgage insurance as a percentage of their mortgage? I think this should be a dollar amount, with inflation added.

I guess that's why they are in BETA? Nobody makes perfect product in their first attempt.

I would really be interested in that approach as well. I don't necessarily need my data synced to the cloud. A way to import and export data for backups would be nice.

I've always wanted to build a tool like this, but never went around to it. I am a FIRE nerd, and have used and tried many FI tools. I am an active YNABer and I was looking for a tool for longterm planning. This looked interesting enough that I actually went ahead and got the premium plan for a year. Thanks for the coupon code. It came out at roughly $12/year, which I think is a great value to the kind of insights you can get. To create something like this on my own would take months, if not years. I also like the fact that I am not linking this to any of my real accounts.

I have felt the need for this before, and wanted to work on it as a side project. Congratulations on launching! I will be watching your growth.

I noticed something off about that ad too.

I think this has potential. I would move away from the "Corporate illustration style" if I were you, it's getting some pushback lately. Also, a minor nitpick about the logo which reads "HIGEORGE" as a single word.

I instantly searched for pricing, and was put off by the lack of it. I think if I were a small publication, my chances of subscribing would be a lot higher if I knew how much it would cost me without going through a sales person. Maybe you are still figuring out prices right now?

Unnoticeable if done right.

I've been doing some research and daydreaming about building a VR product that is both software and hardware. Think Microsoft Flight Simulator, but for driving, in VR. I want to simulate real world driving experience as closely as possible.

The idea first came to me when I was driving around in Hawaii along the coast a few years ago. The views were breathtaking. I had watched videos of the drive before, but nothing compared to the real thing, not even close. That's when I thought, maybe we can generate the driving experience in VR.

Think about it. You are not moving anywhere relative to the car when you are driving. If we can build a car that can simulate inertia, acceleration, bumps on the road, the rumble of the car etc., we can almost fool our brains it's the real thing.

The software sides of things is "easier" IMO, as far as being technically possible. I want to do what MSFS has accomplished. I want to be able to drive around anywhere in the world.

I am looking for likeminded folks to see if this thing can be built.

I use BaconReader Premium [0] and it does almost everything I want out of Reddit, including Reddit videos.
