Did the same thing at my college. We crawled their course catalog. They blocked our IP.
Our big addition was being able to sort classes by time and day, the university ended up adding that feature, so I guess we got what we wanted?

Great software for half off doesn't seem like a scam to me. The app still works.
Congrats on launching Sam!
Good point :) To be fair I started writing code much younger, but I still chose a bad date.
I still think my main point is valid.
I have trouble thinking this 60 year old programmer exists. There were only 2000 computers in existence in 1960. Today a 60 year old programmer that spent a career in computer science is a very small group of people.
I'm going to wait and see how this really turns out.
Thanks a lot!
Currently it is because of the page view controller, but I'm thinking about dropping that in the future. I'll definitely being iOS 5 only at that point.
I simply went to http://www.dafont.com/ and searched until I found a font I liked, thats all that happened here.
This list is one of the first list that seems to really coincide with the things that bother me about the app.
I do like the idea of making the left side tappable, and I really do want to change my animation and hope to get time to fix that soon.
Just so you know when viewing a story you can tap the headline to go back. This feature was mostly added for myself, I hope to get a designer to design me something that communicates returning to the front page better than my current methods.
I can tell you've done some iOS work cause you can see some of the shortcuts I took to ship this on time. I hope to fix these soon :)

I just want to say that I did not use your app as a source at all when designing my app, but I did use newspapers.
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
Like I've already commented its great to hear from you and see which of the features I think are important are also important to people who have tried the app.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the feedback.
In the next version I will definitely try to do something to make it look a little cleaner.
Thanks a lot for your feedback!
The gestures, better fonts, and buttons are three things that are already high on my list to fix, but its really good to hear it from someone else. Be looking for an update shortly.
Thanks a lot for checking out my app. Here are a few promo codes for anyone interested.

I was a huge fan of the thesis, but as I kept reading the situation seemed very familiar. Very familiar to the multiple times I have worked for a non technical guy that really just doesn't have a clue.
I was really not a fan of the part where he told his guys not to make excuses, but then made a very large excuse for himself.
If I would have read only the first few paragraphs I would have been a huge fan of this article.
I bet the key difference here is that now people are much more likely to use google specifically to find dropbox.
I've been turned down a few times for merchant accounts. The company I started in college got turned down, and we ended up using paypal.
I bet they end up spending a lot less than 10k per employee with the current plan. The current plan means that people who are already donating, the people who would care about this 10K get it, and Apple saves money on the people who don't care.
I'm working on a registrar that just focuses on domains. I want to be the Chipotle of domain registrars. Life has been happening and putting me behind, but if you are interested I'd love some more people to e-mail when I finish it: http://nameptr.com
Sorry for the shameless plug... but this the third or fourth post I've seen, and I had to mention that I am working on something :)
I'm working on an iPad app now. There are many things you need the device for.
First, the lower amount of memory is very important for testing how your views load and unload.
Second I've noticed pretty big differences in how the screen looks on my MBP as opposed to on the actual device.
Interesting. I didn't even question this part :). 80% of people here make money off of software. If I was being funded by an iPad app it definitely would be that important.
I don't see how these two points are mutually exclusive.
It very well could be an executive order not fix it because of the security issue.
"And you can accomplish in a few short minutes what it takes a dedicated programming team weeks to put into beta"
Ouch man that hurt.
But seriously Wufoo is looking much more impressive than the last time I saw it. Had no idea you guys could process payments. Before watching that video I would only recommend Wufoo to friends if they had very simple form needs, nice to know that you can do much more.
I remember an episode where this american life explained why health insurance came to be like it is.
I was specifically interested in the fact that they said during WWII wages where not allowed to increase, so the only things that employers could increase were benefits. This was the biggest factor in making Health Insurance employer-based.
Sounds like you live in an area where Groupon hasn't been widely accepted.
In Dallas the most common deal (that interests me) is $10 for $20 food at restaurant X. It is quite obvious how this is a good deal for me.
I also once used it to purchase 2 opera tickets for $25. After I went to the opera I found out these ticket would have normaly been $115 a piece. Although I did research a bit and call the opera before purchasing try to make sure I was getting a good deal.
Also remember that the doc connector is a revenue source. I'm having trouble finding a source right now, but if I am remembering right Apple sells the actual dock connectors to accessory makers.
I work at a company with a 2 person group and it fared much better than an individual plan.
In no way did I say make a fake company. You'd have to start a real company to do this.
