This being Hacker News, it's worth mentioning that Bambu have been exceedingly bad actors around the AGPL and Open Source.

RINSE | REMOTE or San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York City, New Jersey, Seattle, Austin, Toronto, or Washington DC - INTERNATIONAL OK | QA Engineer | Full-Time | Salary: $40k-$100k USD | https://www.rinse.com
Rinse provides dry cleaning and laundry delivery services to customers in twelve metropolitan areas in the US and Canada. We have sophisticated logistics optimization software, a polished consumer product, and firm business fundamentals. We're now over a decade old - this is a stable, yet consistently growing and innovating, company.
Our engineering team is distributed across the United States and internationally, and has been entirely remote for years now, but a desk can be provided in the above cities if you'd prefer.
As our QA Engineer, you'll assist in improving the quality of Rinse's software, which services our customers, valets, vendors, and warehouse personnel. You'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, from idea through documentation and feedback. You'll also drive software quality through testing, collaboration, and documentation.
We're a tiny team tackling big problems, so our technical staff enjoys considerable autonomy, flexible schedules, and ambitious projects with clear and meaningful impact on our business.
This season, we're particularly interested in new grads or junior engineers, to round out the team. You will join a high-caliber team where collaboration, honesty, and open communication are at the core of everything we do.

That role is in flux, as we work to understand the leverage LLMs can give us in this domain. (We also employ Metabase extensively, for a democratized analytics environment.)
Please stay in touch; we might want to find someone to help us in this domain in the coming months.
We employ caring, careful, and diligent laundry attendants to fold laundry and match socks. While we do have video camera systems, we haven't yet found any robotics systems that are ready for the scale and efficiency we have with our team. We're watching the space closely, though!

We're particularly interested in true full-stack engineers, with strong React / Typescript / CSS skills to complement comfort in a Python / Django environment. We're also seeking engineers with experience leveraging AI to automate complex operational processes.

Just yesterday, we were discussing starting to retire our fleet of 8GB Macbook Airs, because 8GB just isn't enough to run Tahoe and a few apps. Luckily, most of our Macbook Airs are 16GB to avoid this kind of obsolescence.
It looks like this MacBook Neo doesn't even have an option for 16GB, unfortunately.
No worries about the downvote. You're NOT crazy to hate remote!
It really depends on your phase in life, and your lifestyle. I have kids, a home office, a community, and outdoor hobbies, so the work-from-home lifestyle is great for me. And, I can meet colleagues for lunch or strategy sessions on occasion as necessary.
If you want to socialize with coworkers and minimize time at home, then find an in-office work environment! There are lots of them out there - Rinse isn't quite for you.
We do have a physical footprint in each of those cities, and there is real value in being able to actually see our product and service in person by being in our service area. We can provide a desk with real co-workers in any of those cities.
See https://www.rinse.com/contact/#locations-heading
Most developers prefer to work from home, though! We're fully remote, and are free to mostly work from home or a co-working facility instead of one of our potentially-noisy offices.

This is a cool visualization. I wonder if it uses the excellent solpos.c library from NREL as the core engine?

Missed a chance to put this in meme format e.g. https://imgflip.com/memetemplate/439302803/Days-without-acci...
This is great! The only part that broke the immersion (for me) was that the cloth bits fell at a constant rate - I'd expect them to accelerate due to gravity, and maybe flutter as they fell.
Nice art!

They didn’t kill the smugglers extrajudicially, though, which is a big difference.
I've needed two passes in the past, a few days apart. One to catch all of the adults, and another to catch any new wasps that emerged immediately after the first pass.
This is the technique I have used, too! You can put soapy water in the shop vac.
This avoids spraying poisons around your household environment.
Are there any calisthenic exercises for pulling, beyond pullups? Seems like most of them require weights or machines.
11 kW is just fine - it means the car will be fully charged every morning after an evening in the garage, and wireless means you'll never forget to plug it in.
Rinse | IT Manager / Network Administrator / System Administrator | Hybrid in SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York (Brooklyn), Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Washington DC, or Newark. (Primarily remote with some on-site responsibilities.) | Full-time | https://www.rinse.com
Rinse provides dry cleaning and laundry delivery services to customers in eleven metropolitan areas in the US. We have sophisticated logistics optimization software, a polished consumer product, and firm business fundamentals. We're now over a decade old - this is a stable, yet consistently growing and innovating, company.
Given our distributed nature, we have growing network and workstation infrastructure, and it's time to hire our first full-time leader to manage this system. The ideal candidate can:
- Operate with autonomy and integrity across network, server, infrastructure, and desktop environments
- Communicate cross-functionally, to internal stakeholders at all levels
- Navigate our (primarily Linux) technical environment
- Spearhead projects to improve our technology's security, reliability, and functionality
- Facilitate our corporate efficiency via desktop administration
Because this role has some physical hardware responsibilities, we'd prefer it be filled by someone in the above localities, even though the vast majority of the role can be performed remotely.
We're open to both newly-graduated or more senior technically-minded individuals and managers, provided they meet our bar.

When I used "we" in my post, it's because I don't make hiring decisions unilaterally.
I've posted on "Who's hiring" for years now, and hired many engineers from those posts. We reject the vast majority of candidates, and to those who we reject, it might seem like we can't hire "a single candidate." That's not true - if it were, I'd stop posting here!

I have a 10-year-old EV and the battery is just fine. It hasn't really degraded much, either, and is still our family choice on trips under 600 miles.
A 40 MPG car, with gas at $3.29 / gallon is still $0.83 / mile.
That math doesn't work out.
(And I say that as an ardent EV enthusiast for the past decade.)
The skeleton discussion reminded me of this real-life analysis of Vladimir Putin's high heels:
I did read "Hillbilly Elegy" and come from a rust-belt city with rural family.
I understand your perspective, but I don't think that explains most of Trump's actions. The (very valid!) critique of globalist profiteering you shared has been boiled down into something beyond economics and into tribalism.
I blame decades of right-wing media dominance on cable TV and rural radio.
The best explanation I've heard is that this (almost) half of the US population doesn't care if it hurts a bit, as long as it hurts the other half of the US population more.
