Can this be used to get EU specific features too? (AltStore and such)

Any source on the "most waymos are remotely driven by a human" claim?
Google (and I'm sure all others) use Optical Switches for years

A telling bit:
Generally, the performance was underwhelming compared to my expectations. I know from my work overclocking Raspberry Pis there are diminishing returns when you force-feed more power into a chip that's optimized for a certain level of performance.
There's a lot more power, a lot more heat, and only marginal performance gains. It looks like the Snapdragon X Elite on a laptop at 20-30W is only 15-30% less performant than the X Elite on the Dev Kit running at 80-100W!
And it's downright embarrassing, efficiency-wise, compared to Apple's M3 and M4 chips (M2 is close to comparable, at least).
MacDroid on MacOS is a shareware utility providing similar functionality of using ADB Shell level FS access inside a directory in Finder using the new File Provider API
Interesting. How does Stripe and other SF based payment platforms handle it?

Wow! May I know the router model that does 900+mbps of Wireguard? The dedicated GLinet box I got for tailscale does only about 60-90mbps. Apple TV 4K does a paltry 20-40...
Hi! Love Msty
Can you add GCP Vertex AI API support? Then one key would enable Claude, Llama herd, Gemini, Gemma etc

This is a video about shipping e2ee as default on FB Messenger (since that's not in the title)
Hi, your plans are capped at 2TB ($200/yr). Any chance to get higher tiers? Looking for 15tb...
There's also something fishy about DJI in that their Android app to control their drones is intentionally not listed on the Play Store. I've never seen a manufacturer require side loading.
Anyone know why it's not on the Play Store? (On iOS it is on the App Store, well because there isn't another way till this DMA thing kicks in)
tl;dr: The article reports on Figma's challenges after a $20 billion deal with Adobe fell through due to regulatory scrutiny. Figma had to halve its internal valuation to $10 billion, affecting employee morale and leading to severance offers for those wishing to leave. The situation illustrates broader regulatory impacts on tech industry mergers, with similar actions affecting other companies and reshaping expectations around acquisitions and employee compensation.
Always a delight to see a Neal fun link here.
I was able to get to Dandelion after many combos! Hoping it gets to human soon.
Will try to extract the full tree from the code :)
It's an accessibility feature for people losing their voice or on the verge of. And it is TTS only, not speech-to-speech as your mention of "can use it in phone calls and facetime" implies. Not being s2s means it doesn't retain vocal disfluencies, prosody etc signals that make a voice feel real
Google's Lookout app (accessibility for the blind and visually impaired) was updated ~6 months ago with a multimodal LLM already.
It uses the Flamingo model family: https://deepmind.google/discover/blog/tackling-multiple-task...
Do they need realtime transcription?

You most definitely can exclude specific apps from auto update on the Play Store. Go to the app's Play listing page and tap on the overflow menu in the top right (vertical ellipses) and uncheck "Enable auto update".
Love love love Harmonic! I actually stopped using an iPhone because Harmonic was giving me a better experience than Octal on iOS.
A couple feature requests! 1. Enable deep linking. Capture the news.ycombinator links on my phone and they auto open in Harmonic 2. Something is broken in the login form that blocks my autofill from working (1password, but it should be the same for any as it's an Android level API)
Very cool! Been wanting something like this for a while!
What's the Android support looking like? :)
The mild irony of this new research paper being behind a paywall as well.
Here's the MacOS list I know as of now: (none support fine tuning)

Here's a 2019 source on how Stanford's faculty housing works:
"[Prof] will have to leave his house 10 years after he retires from Stanford or 51 years after he moved in — whichever comes first — at which point he will sell it back to the university, making a modest profit (appreciation is capped at about 3% per year). That means he can’t pass it down to his daughters." https://extras.mercurynews.com/whoowns/stanford.html
His first reference around audiobooks it's particularly resonating, in so far as to express, record and iterate ideas with mind maps!
Mind maps, sketches, doodles, mocks, are ineffably (pun intended) great at having good ideas.
