This part fires me up to create art for arts sake:

Kodama: That’s also partly why this development was a lot of fun, I think: we (the developers) started the project on our own initiative, and many people on the team had worked on PSII and were able to address the shortcomings and unfinished ideas they had from that game in PSIV.

Crashes too frequently for me. Needs a reboot to fix only to be crashed again few hours later. I never found a solution; likely related to docker/podman being memory hungry.

Port handling requires constant Powershell maintenance too.

This is very impressive. Google really is ahead

AWS has been the backbone of the internet. It is single point of failure most websites.

Other hosting services like Vercel, package managers like npm, even the docker registeries are down because of it.

Note taking is supposed to be a map of my brain. Not generated garbage from LLMs. I only want the most memorable things to be in there.

AI coding 10 months ago

AI makes you feel 20% more productive but in reality makes you 19% slower. How many more billions are we going to waste on this?

True in the long run. Like a car with a high acceleration but low top speed.

AI makes you start fast, but regret later because you don't have the top speed.

I left a comment like that, because the project itself is about the productivity of AI. Project aims to increase it. Mine is also about productivity of AI. But my distaste about its blandness.

On the whole meta discussion thing, i have been reading HN for at least 15 years. Posts with lots of comments are meta discussions. HN is not really a place to discuss technics of a project.

I fear for the variety in the internet coding culture. Significant portion of code is being written by ai, all looks the same, all has the same mediocre quality. Even the github page descriptions are generated with ai, overflowing with emojis and same sentence structures repeated.

Claude 3.5 was released 1 year ago. Current LLMs are not much better at coding than it. Sure they are more shiny and well polished, but not much better at all. I think it is time to curb our enthusiasm.

I almost always rewrite AI written functions in my code a few weeks later. Doesn't matter they have more context or better context, they still fail to write code easily understandable by humans.

i wish people would stop mentioning W4 Games as a porting option. their lowest revenue tier costs $2000 a year. most indie games sell a few hundred copies.

Thank you. It is kinda like Tetris, blocks falling constantly. you have limited time to get strong and destroy blocks.

i struggled greatly on balancing. My solution was to make director behind the scenes to make sure player never gets bored. Downside is; game is quite hard for non breakout players. Aiming is crucial.

i did release the demo on itch.io But it lacks some features. i will update it tomorrow.

%5 goes to idea maker, i get it. What happens to other %95 ? Is it evenly distributed, or assemblymade takes a percentage?

I am interested in contributing to projects if it's evenly distrubuted among developers or assemblymade gets a cut no more than %5. Please be clear about it.
