Hi there! Do you send over confirmation/rejection emails? Because I sent my resume/portfolio for the Designer position but didn't receive anything, confirmation of receipt or rejection. Thanks!

I already get 6.5% from HeyBanco. Actually, they already increased it to 7.25%, and keep in mind these CDs expire every 7 days so the money is quite liquid. How are you any different?

As a designer, I'm ashamed of reading this. This is the opposite of what designers are supposed to do. UI is not art, you can't just do whatever you want. You need to abide by user patterns and conventions, because our job is to get people from A to B in the most efficient way possible. Period. Your designer is just bad.

This is amazing, I've been thinking of doing the same for my area. I've always wondered about the ping tho. Right now I have 4ms with my current provider which uses a wired connection. Whats the usual ping using radio? (from a client perspective)

So much this. Honestly, there is a condescending tone in the parent comment, it's the usual "Do you feel depressed? How about we go to the movies? You'll feel better!" type of advice. My brain can't produce the appropriate neurochemicals that yours (parent comment) can, so in the past I've had the need to use antidepressants to supplement my brain.

Lots of people don't understand this.

On price: $50/m would be IMPOSSIBLE for most people to pay. You are backing the $50/m with data viewed from inside your bubble. I'm part of several online groups and communities for people suffering from Anxiety and Depression and out of thousands and thousands of people there, both in the US and around the world, I'd say only 20% have the money to go to therapy.

Your data showing that "a lot of people are paying a lot of money" is already biased because it's based on a particular socioeconomic segment. Do you want another data POV?

"...only 70 percent [of americans] feel they have adequate access to mental health care." - https://www.apa.org/monitor/julaug04/survey

Please be mindful when making comments like these, as not all of us are as lucky and/or privileged as you are.

OP: Your pricing is fine, probably $9 "ala netflix", that is still low enough for most people. Awesome product!

When I was 14 or so, my mom installed one of those "telephone locks" that blocked outgoing calls and only allowed incoming calls, she did this to limit my dial-up internet. I wanted to see if I could bypass it without my mom noticing.

I noticed that the case for the lock could be pried open easily because it was just a plastic cover with 2 tabs. I examined the circuit and saw that if I could bridge the cables around the lock via a toggle switch, I could have an open phone line during the day and then toggle it at night when my mom came home and she wouldn't know. And so I did. I felt like Kevin Mitnick. I remember documenting the process and posting it to hackaday.com

Funny thing was that my dad found out but he didn't tell my mom. He would just go "hey can you make the phone work, I need to make a call". I later found out he was on phone call restrction too.

You are missing the whole point. As a designer that dabbles a bit in code and servers, I literally have NO idea what most of the words you just used mean.

I know that S3 has nothing to do with FTP, but it's a nice analogy that I can relate to. Get off your high horse.

As someone who is new to React, Angular, Vue, etc., he/she is in the PERFECT position to judge them. Libraries/frameworks are not just about performance, but how you learn them as well.

Those frameworks/libraries don't write themselves.

If the author is a spoiled new-school dev, then you are a grumpy and bitter old-school programmer.

I don't see any devs, old or new, using HTML table tags to build grid systems just because "Hey, I'm so smart that I have the mental tools needed to reason about complex TR, TH and TD tags". It's 2017, if the author is asking for a more competent dev environment then he has the right to his opinion.

I have a suscription to Headspace that I rarely use to be honest. 10-30 minutes feels like "too much" time to take out of my day. Like most people here, I feel like rests will make me fall behind.

SimpleHabit's 5 minute meditations can be done anywhere and are really easy. I find that 5 minutes is just what I need to kickstart this habit. The "stress fix" is a godsend. Thanks for this!

I agreee with you. As a mexican with no college degree (I'm entirely self-taught), one of my 'career dreams' is to work at a company like Airbnb, Uber, Google, Facebook, etc, but the lack of work visa, or in this case, US citizenzhip, makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me unless I do some crazy stuff like getting an O-1 visa (extraordinary ability). I was offered a Product Design position at Medium but I couldn't move forward because of the visa. I was very sad.

In contrast, working in Europe or Canada is easier because getting a work or resident visa is smoother, but the salary cut is way too much.
