Love seeing adoption of Claude Code - tembo.io can be used to send work to Claude Code automatically from Linear, Sentry, Postgres, and static code analysis.

* Use AI (Claude Code, Cursor). Get great at this.

* With a little experience (and talent) you can be a next-gen startup CTO/senior dev.

* I'm absolutely not kidding.

UX looks pretty similar to plausible - Posthog UX is more complex because it has a lot more features than Plausible.

Simpler UX isn't necessarily better, if features are removed.

I would have agreed w/ you 100% 18 months ago. And presently is is messy do to this in Postgres, but it's also messy to choose lots of tools that create sprawl and data islands.

We're spending a significant part of our R&D effort in 2024 towards making it cleaner/safer to do more in Postgres. We have a lot of work to do to build a great gitops developer experience. We're also prioritizing auto-scale, auto-suspend, and auto-tune projects to help reduce the cost of doing "lumpy" things in Postgres.

cloudnativepg is great, we're using it as a foundational component to Tembo's OSS and Cloud services (tembo.io).

We're actively working towards adding ParadeDB to Tembo Cloud (cloud.tembo.io) - feel free to message us in app to get alpha access.

i expect supabase will do it too at some point.

Thanks - sort of boring what we're doing (on the surface) but there is so much goodness inside the Postgres ecosystem that deserves celebration and polish. It's an amazing community to spend time in.

Tembo founder here - we're working on a "private data plane" feature, which relies on our open-sourced k8s-based data plane https://github.com/tembo-io/tembo-stacks - once we have that in place, this provider will hit our API, and will be able to deploy Postgres instances in your private k8s clusters.

We're also working on a CLI for local dev (that doesn't rely on Terraform), that will provide a simple code-based method to managing extensions in config files (among other things. Then you can run everything locally via `tembo instance start` or run remotely via `tembo deploy`.

I've got 60-acres in Ohio and we've got a land management plan to remove the invasive honeysuckle and tree of heaven – and take care of the sycamores, maples, buckeyes, walnuts, and oaks.

It's a fascinatingly deep area to dive into!

I'm not as close to all this as you likely are, but rebellions start small and will grow, if there is a strong merit to them.

On the Terraform v. OpenTF front, we'll have to see how things develop.

this seems to me to be too much extra work (to prepare) to deliver a compliment.

I'd rather see a culture where compliments/kudos are quick, easy, and often.

Definitely a cool idea. I could see some places we might be able to use it, especially on our open source projects.

Starting on AWS in a few regions, but multi-cloud eventually.
