Someone here gets the 20/hour for STEM volunteer work with kids then donates the money to a charity which Formidable also doubles as a part of another program. Would that address the issue for you or is the idea of getting paid for fun stuff just ruin the fun no matter what on principle?

Mac and Swift/Obj-C fanboys will always rail against anything that fails their purity tests. Electron certainly has some issues they need to work out, but Electron criticism doesn't need to dominate this comments section to the rate that it is.

I think there are times for both but I agree with you. I'm pretty much only interested in Multi paradigm languages at this point and after much consternation I'm pretty stoked about the es6 moves and hope JS continues to support all the ways to program things.

Immutability and lazy eval are both really well implemented with OOP interfaces even though I consider both functional concepts.

I don't know a single city filled with people which, when presented with new information responds so positively. Seattle reacts quickly, information spreads quickly here, but people are also very open minded. More-so than anywhere else I've lived.

I'm a vegetarian who is supportive of hunting. If you are going to eat meat, hunting and butchering it yourself is by far the most ethical and environmentally sound method of obtaining flesh as food. I simply can't reason with someone who finds it OK to eat an animal, but sleeps with one on the foot of her bed, and rages when someone else hunts.

That said eating octopus and specifically the GPO is particularly unethical if you subscribe to intelligence being related to sentience. Additionally it appears that octpus legs contain brain cells, the part you eat is in part brain.

Ember is to Rails is accurate but there isn't much like Angular in server side land. Maybe Plone?

With ember you will understand the right way to build an ember app from day 1 and it will take you 2 days to build a working 1st app. With Angular you will use it for a year, still have no idea how to build an Angular app the right way, but somehow your app will be done in 1 day instead of 2.

This person has no problem with Ouya, the article isn't even about Ouya. He has a problem with kickstarter. He doesn't get it at all.

The term UX no longer possesses meaning. As soon as graphic designers just started adding UX to their resumes it was dead. The broad definition eloquently described in the very well designed blog post was nice, but far too general. Like saying Hollandaise tastes buttery. True but incomplete.

I'm going to start asking every designer I interview who has UX tacked on their resume like a piece of flair to diagram out a complex user interaction on a white board. In part because I want to enact the ritual hazing that is white board interviews on others, in part because I believe it has potential to distinguish hollandaise from mayonaise.
