A better name would've been TakeNoBullshit award. Because that is what which rots the world and Aaron tried to fight it to save others from being subjected to the same bullshit.

>The award is clearly for people who are being disobedient for the benefit of society. Breaking rules for the sake of breaking rules is just anarchy or trolling. You're just inconveniencing people who set out to recognise real contributions to society.

Try manjaro kde. It has pretty good auto detection and configuration for hardware. Looks like ubuntu messed up release 16 and it rears its ugly head on many ububtu based os. It feels so brittle. Debian based netrunner kde is also nice but I like manjaro better for its excellent ux.

Yemen and Somalia is effed into stone age by all the drone attacks which is only creating more of so called "terrorists" in a country 11000kms away. Which is terrorism? Killing many innocents on a daily basis by a country or people there trying to defend their country against external aggression? All those innocents being killed is plain wrong.

Electoral votes = senators + congressmen. All votes from a state goes to winning candidate as it is winner takes all. So Trump won. Does popular vote mean all votes from US tallied together as a whole or is it winner takes all votes from that state and then tally each state? My argument was based on the understanding that its the later one.

Yes, I know what popular vote is. Am just saying that US presidential electoral college system works correctly as it gives each state in the federal system equal weight in choosing the president. It was never designed to be by popular vote of individuals. So it doesn't matter at all.

How did Hillary became the prime candidate even when it was Bernie that had high turnout? DNC leadership favored Hillary blindly, thats why. If the leadership was neutral Bernie would've been the main candidate by popular vote. If the race was between Bernie and Trump, Bernie would've win.

Not to mention that all most all media channels were bashing anything Trump but actively not reporting bad things about Hillary. Even the slightest negative about Trump got coverage whereas Hillary was safe from such media bashing. If Trump and Hillary where given neutral and equal coverage, then Trump would've gotten even higher vote.

First quote shows Chumley has no idea of how tech works, the costs involved, and the negligible effect it will have on the problem he is trying to solve.

“If we could have manufacturers install filters that would be shipped to South Carolina, then anything that children have access on for pornography would be blocked,” Chumley said. “We felt like that would be another way to fight human trafficking.”

What? I guess he thinks child pornography is "porno for children". So he wants manufacturers to install filter that would block children from viewing porn by blocking access. Which by the way does not help prevent human trafficking at all.

Even amongst same species things might be different. Take humans for example. Women and men have no clue how each other think about certain things that are very closely related to gender because they don't experience what other gender go through and experiences everyday. Some ant species farm coffee trees. Many rear aphids. It is very good enough evidence that they are conscious. Similarly animals and birds. They all know enough about their environment to identify their family/tribe, find food, etc. We may never understand ways of a cat unless we become one and live as a cat. Human kernal is incompatible with cat kernal and so for many inputs native to a cat we may not even know those exists. Like we didn't knew about animals communicating in frequency outside our freq etc until we developed tech to detect such sound. Its so amazing.

The reporter who broke this story was later found to have died to two gunshot wounds to the head. It was ruled a suicide

How was it even ruled suicide? How does one shoot ones own head and then shoot it again for a second time? No, am not going to try it and I mean it, so don't make me suicide for questioning this.

Funded Jihad and Islamic fundamentalist terrorist groups

If CIA did it, then isn't CIA a terrorist organization? And if its doing it with support of the president, then ..?

I did expect some response along those lines, but this is utterly ridiculous. They say it protects privacy and security and essentially getting access to all your internet activities. What happened to get a warrant if law enforcement need to start monitoring on some one?

I wonder what the debate would look like? It would probably be well rehearsed with all the appropriate dialogues which has the right amount of words "terrorists" and "pedophile" mixed with it and life made difficult to anyone who calls bullshit on these kind of intrusive laws.

Its like the governments all around are going rogue, instead of being a government that should be as lean as possible doing collective bargaining on behalf of citizens with their welfare in mind and improving their quality of life as much as possible with the technological advancements without damaging the environment. It is just crazy.

May be ants are just cleaning so that it wont stink? Coating something else other than an ant and placing it near an ant crowd might answer that I guess. If they carry it away, then they are cleaning stink rather than getting rid of dead ant.

I have always wondered how they transfer such knowledge down the generations and more importantly how they gathered such knowledge in the first place. There is striking similarity between humans and ants in group work and working towards common goals necessary for survival. There are brown and green aphids and ants breeds them keeping a particular ratio - one aphid type makes honey that tastes great for them and the other aphid type with honey not that great but it secrets something onto plants which delays flowering and thus prevents plants from dying off earlier after flowering, thus increasing the value ants extracts from a plant. Think for a moment the steps involved from discovering aphids. They are brilliant!

Yes, US should just mind its own business.

Just because other governments do it doesn't make it right.

Open governance that I suggested is very similar to Open government wiki link you linked.

And I spelled hypocrisy wrong.

My understanding is the world would be a better place if everyone works together and live peacefully.

I meant to take into account all results of US interventions from the end of world war 2. Its a net negative result for affected citizens due to underhanded tactics by US. And for US too. Which is why USA is no more a world leader. It would have had plausibility if it didn't constantly try to undermine other democratic countries atleast. But no, every other country is a possible enemy. Spying even the heads of states of allies only proves that attitude and pushes them to actually become an enemy when these underhanded tactics comes to light.

Interchange usa with ussr and communism with capitalism in the above para. Then read it as if you are from ussr.

What I would strongly advocate for is open governance. That would prevent waging war for profit. Perhaps those who calls for war should lead it like old times. Waging war for profit in the comfort of your home while your soldiers die like expendibles causes career politicians to take that risk. If won its profit, if lost then its just an election for them.

I wonder if law banning hipocracy is the answer. Most Politicians does not experience suffering of commons.I wouldn't have a problem with most politicians if at least half of them displayed an expertise in solving real problems rather than expertise in saving face

Here is a very good article that has many ideas I strongly agree with. It addresses many fundamental problems involved.

Take the pricing of anything. Its greed pricing vs how much greed is tolerated. Take fish for example. In our local market prices basically increase roughly every 2 or 3 weeks. Sellers quote high when they are not desperate for money. They don't care if it doesn't sell. Now they may lie to other sellers that they sold at higher price and then others try their luck at pushing price high. Sales may be down for initial two three days but then people start buying at higher price. Fish supply hasn't changed, cost of catching it haven't changed cost of living didn't change, wages earned by buyers didn't change.

That is pure capitalism at play as it is a free market without government regulations.

Similarly some drugs that are priced at crazy multiples of real cost to produce it(including RnD and healthy profit) by the likes of martin shkreli.

So its basically how much the individuals in an economy values money. When the seller quotes high and I as a buyer has truck load of money, I wouldn't even bother to bargain. When I don't have cash, I try to bargain it to the bottom levels and sellers would probably not even be able to cover their cost.

Pricing that varies over the day in ecommerce websites is another example. Time during which people are more likely to rush into buying, things are priced high.
