I'm curious about your workflow for reusable scripts with Jenkins. What are the advantages to putting it in Jenkins? How do you set up Jenkins to run these individual scripts?

As more engineers joined and people needed to reuse old scripts, was there some process to discover them on their own? My scripts are also dumped in a repo, but team members are having trouble finding them and running them especially since there are quite a few now.

Been using Fig for a few months now, and really can't see myself living without autocomplete for git branches and npm packages

I've been building Imprint (https://imprint.to) these past few months to provide a better home for ideas. It's centralized like Medium, but has a focus on content ownership. You can use custom domains, own your content through our policies, and know that your content won't be altered or removed spontaneously. We also promise that in the event of the platform shutting down, we'll notify you to export your posts 3 months in advance.

There are countless blogging platforms, but surprisingly, I don't think anything hits the nail yet, which is why I think blogs are dying.

There's WordPress, Ghost, and static site builders, all amazing self-hosted solutions. They're hosted on your own domain, meaning you own your content and control your audience. This type of decentralized blogging makes it difficult for writers to find audiences, and it's typically hard for readers to find relevant content. These blogs are all over the internet, and only a few can make it to the top of Google. Setup, maintenance, and server administration are large barriers for those simply looking for a place to write something.

Of course, there's also Tumblr and Medium. I'm actually a fan of the idea of having more centralized blogging platforms, because they give writers audiences right out of the box. It takes just a few minutes to start a blog and begin writing your first post. But these platforms limit creators' ability to own their content, and even go to lengths to make content less accessible to readers. I especially don't like Medium's paywall approach, nor their policy towards not allowing custom domains.

Thanks for the feedback. For you, would the social aspect with natural traffic coming in make the price worth it?

Great to hear! Would sponsored ads on the main feed, but not on your personal blog, be a turn off?

But they don't include the community aspect. I want to preserve the audience that Medium provides writers out of the box, meaning writers on Imprint get both a reliable place to host, but also a good place to find readers.

I think part of it may be how easy it is to find alternatives to paid services. Found a notes app that costs $5/mo? Google free note taking app and you'll be able to find one that's truly free, or one at least has a generous free tier.
