If it was not marketed at "eat like a caveman" I think it would have more adoption. Paleo is really just about eating more natural foods (less processed foods). It works well.

If law school is so expensive, it is harder to become a lawyer. If less people become lawyers, the supply decreases (resulting in the demand for the shortage of lawyers to be greater).

You don't NEED a degree to do programing. Arguably a computer science degree is standard but even then, you don't need 7 years of schooling. In order to be a lawyer, you need to complete law school.

At the end of the day, it's fair for a lawyer to charge more. Why? Because someone is willing to pay the premium.

Wouldn't other countries be manufacturing it 'legally' since the patent only applies to the US? This is why you see generic Viagra produced and sold from other countries?

what if your idea is an algorithm that can take a photo of someone and tell your their age? If you have a detailed understanding of how the algorithm will work (and what won't) and you have proved it will work, someone can steal that? Is that OK?

I agree with the "ideas are nothing without execution" but I feel like this applies largely to the consumer web/apps field. There are a lot of other 'ideas' that have taken years (maybe even a lifetime) of research and work.

What are the alternatives to EBC? Why not use CBC?

As a 17 year old I think this is awesome and stupid (at the same time). It's pretty eye opening that if a 17 year old can make an app and get bought for a lot of money, it's possible for anyone to.

As awesome as it is for the guy, this doesn't change the fact that a Summly got paid so much for a 2 employees and a founder. I mean the app hardly had traction and $30 million can you get you a nice army of talented mobile developers with signing bonus'. $30M really isn't justified in this case.

Congrats to the summly team, but it's also really sad how desperate and pathetic Yahoo is.

I was one of the 4 finalists from AngelHack Silicon Valley in fall 2012 and I just gotta say, it was awesome! The AngelHack hackathon had a great focus on building (not as much biz/dev/designer)

It's an opportunity that keeps giving. I don't think I would have been able to get a tour at Facebook and network with a lot of people had it not been for winning/attending AngelHack.

Being from the bay area it's easy to forget how much opportunities there are here in respect to other cities. I can't really think of many opportunities that enable builders from around the world to come to the bay area and pitch their ideas to VCs and see what life is like here (they get flown out here for free if they win their city hackathon).

It appears to be incoming search terms for a webstie that has the ExtremeTracking service installed. So it's not really that it's public, it's more that the incoming search terms are just saved along with personal identifying information (ISP/IP) etc.
