I like the whole genre-specific experience thing, maybe it could be used with an actual game that you would play when you're not reading? Maybe that would somewhat defeat the point...

Yeah, it's a shame that math is taught mostly as procedures and not concepts. I was never much of a "memorizer," but once I got it I was good.

As such I got a "D" one 9 weeks in algebra 2, but later graduated as an engineer with over a 3.0. I think I just had to 1. work harder and 2. learn how I had to understand stuff, not just memorize.

That being said, after trying to watch some football on the internet today and being told I need a cable subscription, it seems like the more people try to prevent piracy, or in this case just legally not paying subscription fees, the more it pushes people towards it. Or worse yet (for medial companies), people decide that it's not worth the effort or even pirating it, and decide to just do something else, as I did. Sure, some people would be encouraged to buy cable, but some it certainly just hardens their resolve not to pay for the crap they put on TV.

I like sports, but I'm not paying for 90% Honey Boo Boo and America's Top Model to watch the 10% football and other worthwhile content that they have on!

I'm a mechanical engineer, and I do a lot of stuff involving electronics and programming (PLCs, so a little different than you would probably learn).

Anyway, in my job at least it would probably be quite helpful, especially understanding some of the networking side of things. I'm not sure I even considered it if it was even offered as a minor at my school.

"Sensor array" would be a bit of a stretch in this case, but it has two switches near the battery that I hit with my finger at the beginning. Hitting this causes it to back up and turn left. Hitting the right sensor would back up and turn right. I meant to put some sort of "whiskers" on them, but never really got them to stay on the switches like I wanted. In theory if it bumped into something, it could correct it's path and keep walking.

Depending on if they can pull it off, Windows 8 could be a real step forward in computing. Unifying the desktop and PC worlds is the goal in my limited understanding. Will they do it? Who knows, but I think it would be an exciting company to work for at this moment.

That being said, I hope the system doesn't end up being closed off to outside development.

Chrome is a good browser, used it at work until recently. I use Firefox at home because I'm very familiar with it now. More importantly to me, whether it really makes a difference, I like at least one part of my online experience not to be totally dependent on Google.
