What’s wrong with never configuring the WiFi for it?

Tragically common. A tragedy of the commons if you will.
This is a bug. The applications need to be reindexed. Happened to me on my work laptop and personal one
I’ve been thinking more and more with synology’s recent changes that it would open up the market for some new entrants that are like the system76 of NAS that are:
- low power cpu (arm?)
- uses latest kernel and flavor of Linux distributions
- makes own modular hardware in smallish form factor
- basic support package with slower SLAs to more professional SLAs for enterprises, I would happily pay per month to prevent enshitification if I had guaranteed support and even more so if it bundled some zero trust encrypted cloud storage.
Waymo is part of my investment thesis as to why Google is undervalued
It can seem great when the market jumps like this... but I am more wary and skeptical than ever. Now feels like a good time to de-risk.
Can't speak for Robyn since that is competing in an already aggressively competitive landscape (webserving). Whereas introduction of RUFF/UV by astral has been exceptional.
Python's success is partly because it is easy to do things. It has a huge market share. Combining the speed advantage of one programming language, with another seems like a great idea.
In another alternative dimension, the Firefox guys 10 years ago would have capitalized on what their users wanted which is mostly around privacy and not being Google. Instead we got pocket, a re-hashed VPN and a bunch of privacy-degrading changes which slowly erode trust.
Because NIH has been targeted by DOGE, keep up
I also had exactly the same experience. I ended up losing lots of documents.
Also curious
can you elaborate a bit more on your setup?
I am about to go through this so happy to give feedback
reminds me when a friend said "escape goat" rather than "scapegoat"
I don't understand how Apple have got this update process so wrong. I recently switched from a Ubuntu work laptop (that had live Kernel patching and occasional non-forced reboots) to big whole image OSX needing to update at the worst possible moment.
Would love to see an early version of it!
and is completely at capacity
can you explain more on the gas stoves and oven part?
I had the same issue and reinstalling the app fixed it. it started when I got a new phone and some of my data must have been corrupted on the initial app download
curious what Speech to text you're running on it
Thanks for the link, what are your thoughts on the position that France is in with a number of reactors out of action and requiring repairs? From an outsiders perspective, I am curious if it is really as simple as the French not keeping up with maintenance and it catching them at a bad time or are there issues with the reactor type or other influencing factors.
Can you elaborate on what you reduced and what was remaining for the 800w? I am curious
... and please hit subscribe. Now a message from our sponsor.
since this is hn, perhaps base 16?
why did they call it pyenv when it has nothing to do with python environments, well at least the existing python virtual environment nomenclature
the problem with options is that you need to guess the right direction as well as the timing. With stocks you just need the former
Fantastic, bookmarked. I would love to see book suggestions for younger kids too
Offline: Sphinx, VOSK, Nvidia NeMo, SpeechBrain, Coqui, Kaldi... some off the top of my head. Some of these require more setup & effort and are more research grade than others.
There are also proprietary ASRs which can run offline.
I wrote a small python application to evaluate some of them. Link in my profile!
