They overdosed is my guess. The woman reported they each took "a spoonful" in soda. A teaspoon is 4 grams. An overdose is 2 grams. I don't know why this isn't reported anywhere.

It was probably the right chemical, as far as I can tell there isn't an aquarium specific formulation, Chloroquine Phosphate is Chloroquine Phosphate. You could just as easily overdose on the prescription if you downed a handful of pills.

I'm upset they didn't report this correctly because now people can still die from an overdose and people who might have had access to the aquarium chemical might have saved themselves with proper dosage.

I hope this makes it on the front page. This might be a real solution to a large portion of the problem given that it is readily available, easy to manufacture, and prevents infection with less side effects than regular chloroquine. Large amounts of the population could be prescribed this as a prophylactic and prevent much of the spread from occurring even in high risk occupations. I would love to see the telehealth system used to send prescriptions for this to pharmacies everywhere for at risk workers.

Chloroquine being OTC there may be beneficial, I am eager to see more data on its efficacy.

Yes, minus follower counts and the ability to see followers/follows. There is no practical reason I can see to have those features. I consider Facebook to be a useful public utility like a modern white pages and I wish the design was just a little different.

IMO there is very little need for the friends mechanism on Facebook. I think you should just add people you are interested in, and they add you if they are interested in you, and there should be no confirmation whether you were added or not. That way there is less of the toxic clique behavior possible where you unfriend or refuse to friend someone, no popularity contest or friend counts, and the current behavior of seeing friend-only posts would still function if you mutually added each other. The way it is designed seems to me to invite drama and is a big problem. Please change it, Mark!

As someone who smoked cigarettes and then quit by switching to vaping and weaning myself off, I can give anecdotal firsthand testimony that quitting vaping was much easier than quitting cigarettes. It's hard to say if some new vapers would have been smokers or not, and I agree that really none of it should be legal. But while any nicotine is legal, my personal experience gives me the opinion that vaping is a product which does indeed provide harm reduction.

For those who don't know, Juul is the inventor of the "salted nicotine" vaping trend which makes the nicotine spike much faster in the bloodstream than earlier vape juice, which is more like cigarettes. They have a patent but it appears to be ignored by the vape industry as "nicotine salts" are widely available (added benzoic acid). The nicotine level is also much higher, allowing for lower wattage devices and smaller vape clouds, and a harsher hit that more closely resembles smoking. I think this technology is great if it can reduce the harm of smoking and get people off of cigarettes.

I lived in a parking lot for 3 years. I wish I would have just gotten a basic job in order to get an apartment to stabilize my mental health and bootstrap to something better. It really takes a toll on your emotions and ability to think clearly to not have any stability.

Detroit was built on an industry so large that nothing has matched it since in scale.

I think that to restore Detroit to its former glory is not really possible because there is no industry big enough to support it, nor is Detroit necessarily the best area to put that industry if it existed.

It just so happened that Henry Ford was born here and transformed a small trading town into a huge manufacturing hub by chance of his business growing so large at the right time.

It will be good for society when there is more automation.
