Thanks for the answer. I think I might write the neutral blog post and redirect people to it instead of explaining every time, thanks for the tip. It's not me in the video, but the editing makes it look like it is. I didn't really do anything wrong... if anything, I only try to help people, even if via misunderstood ways.

My friends are all saying this is nothing (both personally and professionally), but I know people do care about this, especially older / conservative people. If people get to know me, they understand I am very good professionally and also as a person.

I've exposed the person before (when I warned people about his scams) and people in the Brazilian Startup scene know about this con man, I just don't think it's legally right for me to accuse him here without formal proof (IP address from Google, Facebook, Dropbox, etc), but pretty much everyone know who he is.

jstanley to not have my personal life linked with a specific site. Think of good programmers behind a big porn site choosing to keep their privacy. Except this site will sell stuff (services, not really products) to the end user (B2C). How to remain anonymous and still be legal?

ephan172, it's anonymity from publicly accessible means. (total blackout would consider making illegal/fake accounts, which is not the case here). I can secure my whois data, but can I secure my payment account? I have two use examples: ie: you sell items you'd rather not to be linked to you in any way (the same way people want discrete packaging when buying certain personal items) ie2: it's a grey area business, such as porn sites (can you completely hide your personal identity when receiving online payments?)

Just to be clear: I'm not talking about ads-based revenue, where the user has (supposedly) no means to track you down. I'm talking about money from subscription / purchases.

I love GAE, but these prices need to come down! CPU-intensive apps suffer the most!

One time I showed my 1st commercial web system to a teacher and he was so quick to say 'but this is not CS' it was sad.

I never said it was supposed to be CS, I just showed the system... His response had nothing to do with anything... His words were just a quick self-defense he seemed very used to use, in a pretty destructive way.

It took me some time to know University was doing no good to me, but now I'm past detox and I'm glad I dropped out.

I don't care if 'it is not CS', I learn whatever it takes to build awesome stuff.

Started web development in php, mysql, javascript/jquery, then dropped out of computer engineering at university of São Paulo and jumped on Google App Engine (Python).
