That is my biggest (and really only) complaint against Apple. Sometimes you have to go under the hood and do a few things. I don't know what Apple has against this way of thinking though.

I use vim and brackets (in addition to Visual Studio), but is codebox even an editor? I thought it was just a snippet organizer. Also, Atom can't open files greater than 2MB at the moment.

Here I thought I was being capped around 5gb. I didn't ditch the "unlimited" data plan until late 2013.

This is good and long overdue. I disagree with the claim of it being the lingua franca of the internet though.

I've had it running on xubuntu 14.04 for close to a month now. The biggest pain was during installation, it only gave root the read flag on some of the installed files. It had weird side effects like having to run as root before changing the theme. Once the permissions were fixed, it ran smoothly.

Which utilities were you trying to install? In my experience, I have a much better time using PowerShell and native tools for Windows.

According to MSFT, they are only looking at known "bad" traffic. You can take their word for it... or not.

Truth. Though, in my experience, most articles are Ubuntu focused. Personally, I prefer Fedora but in most cases instructions are as easy as substituting apt-get for yum.

The problem here is that in our city, we have four ISP's. My parents live in a suburb close to the edge of the city. AT&T, Comcast, and the others don't really provide any services out there.

I say "not really" because ATT provides phone service, but not DSL or U-Verse.

One thing is that it can ruin the UX of the page. I was constantly hitting the overlays while using an iPad when all I really wanted to do was advance the page I was reading.
