The Dreamcast sold well at release and some time after (in North America at least), however Sega's financial situation was bad they didn't have loads of cash like Sony or probably even Nintendo at the time. The system was selling well but not well enough for Sega to recoup it's financials. Also EA boycotted the system completely and was not publishing games for it. Add to that the hype of the PS2.

Just a perfect storm for Sega, even though they really made good console correcting a lot of their earlier mistakes.

Recently tried installing a snap package on ubuntu for the first time. Because of the sandbox environment in snap packages I had some trouble giving it access to mounted NAS drive. Ended up just going with the apt version of the same program

I live in NJ and the property taxes here are among the highest in the nation. My parents house is currently at 8k per year and that is considered "good".

Even in neighborhoods with shit schools taxes are ludicrous, an acquaintance of my family is paying 14k taxes for a small single family home in a town with a high school ranked 294 out of about 400 in the state. She wants to sell the house but due to high taxes and shit school buyers are hard to find.

Property taxes almost doubled in the past 10 years in my area, I am not looking forward to buying a house and then the property taxes doubling in another 10 years.

I think this document nowadays is more catered to embedded or micro-controller programmers. When the document was released it was common to get close to the hardware and probably most people had some experience/exposure nowadays not so much

When I click software engineer I got the hardware engineer description, and when I clicked hardware engineer I got the Technical Solutions Engineer description. I tried this with IE9 and Opera Version 11.62 on Windows 7 and both yielded same result

A raspberry pi with the appropriate programs installed might be a good choice. Its what I plan on giving my nephew when its more avialable.

Spoke to manager today, basically they really want me to stay since I'm the only one doing it and there is no documentation. They even said they'll move me to what ever project I want, if I just train a new guy for the role. I told them tomorrow when I come in I'll decide.

As in another job? No. But something to work on yes, I also went to a couple of interviews in the first week of Jan (had to take PTO days to go to some of these interviews)

Also, this is not my first job. I worked in IT for a metal company for almost 3 years before graduation also did math tutoring at a county college for 2 semesters and before that did 3 years customer service.
