I have more energy in my 30s than my 20s

you should see people who play competitive fps games fly through windows menus and websites. the reason I think mousing is superior to keyboard is when you attain a high skill level of eye hand coordination, you are completely adaptable to any GUI.
Is a photograph art?
disdain for dumping industrial sludge into rivers is quite high too. if you don’t demand regulated domestic production it will just get moved to the least regulated place with the best underlying economics, I imagine you know this though…
Nuclear bombs and ICBMs aren’t a net positive for society either, but not pursuing them is bad geopolitical strategy.
lol, i think the LLM shows more wisdom here than the average person. Functionally, being 50m away from the car wash is at the car wash if you have a dirty car in your possession that needs cleaning. Realistically, the only reason you express the need to go to the carwash if you are in a 50m proximity with your car you intend to clean at the carwash is if you need to walk in and talk to someone.
nah, there is no reason they should be discharging any hexavalent chromium, we have better, less insanely toxic ways of chroming things. trivalent chromium is much less toxic, hexavalent chromium should be banned world-wide.
what's more, i'm not finding a reason that tesla would need hexavalent chromium in battery production, which leads me to speculate that this is waste from one of their other car factories where they presumably have a hexavalent chrome line (it's a cheaper and more robust process than trivalent chrome) and they are mixing/discharging on purpose at the limit at this plant.
Collecting crime data is already in their purview. Thats literally what this is. If this was an app that primarily facilitated contract murder, this would be obviously justifiable. Seems to me you and many others here just don’t actually believe in the states regulatory authority of digital things, like the computer in your car.
Earth's resources are finite, both in terms of raw materials and ability to absorb pollution. Stewardship of our resources entails the regulation of the things we create with those resources such that our collective consumption is conserved. Such oversight is both prudent, and as history and global outcomes teach, quite necessary.
3M
Since it hasn’t been mentioned in this thread: 3M 94 primer with 3M VHB tape is truly amazing stuff for bonding things with high surface energy.
Man, it's almost like materialism actually is a root of suffering. Who'da thunkit?
I mean we have academia, which is essentially secular study. Moreover Atheist don't need to go to church together to indoctrinate their beliefs, that happens every day when no miracles happen and the world continues to be kill or be killed anywhere animal intelligence has not overcome that reality in some small pocket. Atheist also tend to understand that their is no forgiveness and they have to sit with their actions for the rest of their limited days, so it's not a great idea to go out and do terrible things for treasure.
I’m not crazy like some people, but I’ve broken screens many times and every time it has been in a case, one time it was in a case I specifically bought for extra protection.
Half of my screen breaks have been from getting out of my car with my phone in my lap and gravel on the ground.
Another way I’ve broken screens is from my phone falling out of my pocket and onto rocks/concrete. That has happened twice.
And the final way has been from getting smashed in my pocket. I slipped while scrambling some rocks and my phone(in a case I bought for this long backpacking trip) got smashed on my hip, another time I was running around at my friend’s house at night and ran into a wheel barrow, smashing it on my thigh.
Never had a battery fail.
A note: My current iPhone 16 pro is built like a tank, and the glass is truly extraordinary.
In such situations I'll put it in Low Power Mode & Water Mode which works fairly well locks it down from stray input.
I use all the shortcuts subconsciously.
I realize you probably are referencing visual studio, but at the OS level KDE plasma seems to have copped Windows hot keys wholesale. I was giving it a go recently and was delighted that even meta+arrow keys for monitor switching fullscreen apps works. My only gripe, and what got me booting back into windows, was that even the latest wifi drivers for my brand new wifi 7 motherboard were too flaky to reliably play multiplayer online games.
Life is too short for liars.
Here is the announcement on X.

They retoactively reduced (and introduced for Pro3.1) their weekly quotas. I've been building with Antigravity on a Pro subscription and having all of my quotas other than Gemini flash at 0 with a nearly 5 day reset when I went to start today was a massive downer. Probably going to look at switching to Claude Code. I really can't understand how Google can't afford to bury Anthropic, they should have a massive hardware advantage.
They came down hard on asset-flipping shovelware before the rise of AI
That’s not what I remember, I remember PUBG being a viral hit that extensively used asset flipping.
Maybe try this? I have great results on the ios keyboard by simply making two changes to the keyboard settings. I turn off auto-correct, and turn off slide to type. I made this transition when they first introduced slide to type, as that setting changes the touch algorithm to prefer where you lift from vs where you tap initially, or at least that’s how it felt. I also have turned off predictive text because I never use it, it’s faster for me to just type out the words than it for me to watch the predictive text.
Yes? Not like we can prove one way or the other.
Amazing how often people do that. Corporations have very little incentive to be truthful and often have good reason to be dishonest. I notice it particularly wrt video games, gamers are always taking studio’s messaging as gospel and not corporate comms.
Power seekers acquire power, not knowledge seekers. This is from Plato’s The Republic so about as old as it gets.
testimonials from real humans (probably)
(X) Doubt
I think people should be allowed to be noisy.
I have no idea. A wild guess is that it might have to do with my setting option that preserves the last camera mode on re-launch, but I was never able to replicate a crash. I have not gotten a camera crash since I upgraded to iOS26. It only happened a few times, but once is too much.
The only issue I have with the camera now is that under low light conditions and fog, it will refuse to focus on a distant subject unless I cover the LIDAR.
Getting sick isn’t just life or death.
My parents both got measels, and they had no hesitancy getting me vaccinated. I’m significantly taller than my dad, who lost 40 pounds when he got German measles when he was 17. I grew several inches that year.
People who don’t get vaccinated are bad people. I have no qualms saying it.
I upgraded to a 16 pro from an iPhone SE 2. Things I noticed:
Pros:
Better screen, cameras and build quality. Like way better. The glass on this phone is durable enough to not use a case and I don't. After beating it up for a year, its looks and works great. The build quality of this device is bordering alien.
Face ID is very nice. Touch ID does not like my skin.
I like the magnetic accessories and MagSafe.
Visual intelligence is actual quite useful for helping to identify stuff. I’m a curious person and actually use it.
Having flashlight on the action button makes it feel like a tool. I use the flashlight virtually every day.
It’s nice to not have my phone lag, which was a problem for the SE2. This phone is very capable, battery life is much better too.
Cons:
I have had more camera crashes on this iPhone than any I’ve ever had on a new flagship. Less than on my dying SE2, but the camera should not crash on a new flagship. It’s mission critical equipment in my book.
you have no choice but to give it to them
There is always a choice.
Yeah this whole thread is absolutely filled with prudes as far as I'm concerned. Everybody poops, get over it.
on the topic of platonic friendship, I couldn’t disagree more with a lot of the comments. I have plenty of friends yet I don’t do clubs and will never, ever do organized religion. People advising it are religious freaks in my opinion. Some of my best friends took this advice to go to church and bible study. They complain every time I see them about the people in their church. Meanwhile I’ve made more and better friends online. Its not hard, get on social media, find an influencer/streamer that matches your vibes and go jump into the official or adjacent discord community and play video games with people in that community. If you engage in active listening and are a decent person, you will easily make plenty of friends. Additionally, I think in person hangouts are kinda mid, but I hangout with my friends in-person (at a minimum) every other day when I weight lift. Like seriously, I often would rather chill in Discord than go and hang out in-person.
To me the male loneliness epidemic is more about a lack of ability to find meaningful romantic relationships. I’ve been thinking about this a lot, and as somebody who has been doing online dating since it essentially started, I am pretty sure that the problem (or at least a major piece) is that match group has commodified romantic relationships.
I know a lot of people will focus on meeting people in public or whatever, but it has been my experience that dating has become completely garbage and a large part is because all of the current popular dating apps disallow index search and funnel you into swiping. From a mate selection perspective this makes no sense. Not only does it muddy the waters about who is actually a real match, but it also does psychic damage to make so many shallow judgements.
Back before match group bought OkCupid, I used to have excellent results finding people their who shared a lot of common ground with, messaging them with a thoughtful message, and going on dates. Swiping is an absolute crap shoot, and often I feel like I am being used.
