Clearly the rate of change happening at FB is increasing post-IPO. I think this is a real risk for them as they potentially upset the boat too much and increase the chance of capsizing. The change of focus to quarterly numbers is potentially going to be their undoing.

Here's a guy who went into his competitor's site and started deleting user accounts. It's amazing that people overlook this:

Well I'm not building anything yet except my skills and confidence. I'll be sure to reach out once I do get to the stages of building products. Cheers.
Hey Sasha, As mentioned elsewhere on this thread, I'm aggressively working through the courses and have found it immensely helpful. A couple of suggestions:
1) It would be great to highlight on the site some success stories as these develop. I'm learning a lot but my concern is how translatable my learnings will ultimately be to developing real products. It would be great to see the outputs created by people that have worked their way through the courses.
2) How about a demo day for 'grads' who produce companies / products (a la incubator programs)? Seems like this would be a great opportunity for exposure and publicity (Just keep me in mind please so that I can get in on this once I turn my learning into a tangible product :))
I'm going strong on codecademy. It's great to have a structured approach to learning. There are so many resources out there that it's difficult to even begin to learn coding. I don't expect that this will ultimately teach me to build products with code but it at least will introduce me to common/core languages and provide a base to continue my studies through other means.
Right now I'm working through the classes nightly. 15 badges down...no clue how many to go.
Awesome looking site.
My two cents on the concept: As someone who has reviewed many resumes these stylized versions would certainly stand out but I'm afraid it wouldn't be in a positive way. I admit this is unfortunate, but I equate it to someone showing up to the office in a great eye-catching outfit that is not typical of office-wear. It shows a lack of understanding for 'how things are done' Now keep in mind I work in Banking/Cap Markets...I imagine that these resumes will be much more successful at more creative employers (start-ups, advertising, etc.).
Price seems very high. at $99 +$10 an applicant is actually going to be incentivized to apply to less employers. A lot of people (myself included) have stories about getting an awesome job that they almost didn't apply to. When the cost per submission is prohibitively expensive, it may do an applicant more harm than good.
Again, just my own personal constructive feedback. You guys clearly have an incredible knack for design. best of luck.
I can respect that perception but it doesn't match the reality in this case. My 50-75% estimate is probably on the conservative side. 4+ months have been spent on the site - it is functional and only requires approximately another 4 weeks worth of works to improve the UI and bug-fix.
In terms of equity: there will be no 'screwing' going on :).
Good to get that feedback though on how this posting can be misinterpreted. Thanks!
Run spell-check. Your page has 'receive' spelled wrong (recieve). This will kill you credibility-wise.
