Google, Facebook, Apple etc are already deeply influencing the way we think. Deplatforming discussion forums for people who feel isolated and misunderstood is a bold step towards mass compliance and brainwashing.

I feel sorry for radicalized Republicans. They can be reached. Banning, deplatforming and isolating is the opposite of what we should be doing. Big tech should be creating more platforms for them, and more outlets for expression and diversification, not less.

Stripe profited by the sensationalism and hate Trump generated over the last four years and now, at the end of his presidency, they finally pull the plug? I see nothing laudable here.

Hmm. How could we monetize this? Crowdsource the strap... Uber of abuse...

Joking aside, I'm sure we can find modern-day examples of someone doing the crime and another doing the time, for a price.

The visual presentation is really powerful. A link worth clicking.

This is one of those posts I save to read later but never actually read. It's interesting but not essential.

I suggest something similar. When we are constantly buying and requesting things we create work and stress for others. We become a high-maintenance humans. We contribute to the rush and tension we feel around us.

By consuming less and demanding less, we live a low maintenance life. Not minimally good, just low-maintenance. This along with looking for ways to serve our communities is the better way to go.

Get personally involved, have some skin in the game, and you'll get much more out of music.

About a year ago I started a project called Poseur to Composer. My goal is to play an instrument and learn enough music theory to compose songs I'm proud of (it's been a slow and humbling process, and I'm still working at it). Along the way I've discovered many new artists and genres, and I listen to music - no, engage with music - in a much different way now.

In case anyone's interested, here is where I've blogged my progress: https://poseurtocomposer.postach.io/page/sitemap and a recent newsletter I sent that encapsulates what I've accomplished thus far: https://mailchi.mp/60c7dfc7bcbb/rediscovery
