Is this why ebooks in general are so expensive? I always wondered why digital copies cost as much as the physical ones, and I always thought the publishers were just being greedy.
I think the OPs concern is more with his lack of experience combined with his age. Not just that he's in his 30s, but that he's in his 30s and has almost no work experience. I'm pretty sure there is a general consensus that young people learn faster, and this might seep into a decision in whether to hire a 20 something with no experience or 30 something with no experience.
I don't have first-hand, or even second-hand experience of war. I can only go by what I read in articles like this.
But logically, the author is making a lot of sense. Any apathy or desensitization to killing is either a result of social conditioning (sociopathy) or a psychological predisposition (psychopathy). There are of course other ways this could come about, and the author's 80% figure is probably an over-estimation, but I think the proliferation of military contractors really increases the chances that what the author says is true.
I wonder if there has ever been a study that tries to figure out how prevalent these kind of issues are.

My initial reaction was DON'T BE EVIL. But after some thought and some reading, I realize that technology advances and we don't know what the results and consequences will be until quite a bit of time has passed. I really want to trust Google, so please don't be evil.
A bit torn on the issue and don't have a strong opinion either way. I slightly lean towards they shouldn't have to hand over the password, but I really thing courts should try to be flexible (is that even possible?) and go case by case.
Will be looking towards hearing more opinion on the issue.
Could the higher IQ scores be a result of the popularization of the internet in the last couple decades? Moving from a platform that spoon-feeds you information to a platform which encourages the user to actively seek out the information they need/want, from a passive experience to an active one, surely contributed to better problem solving skills.
