There is already a tool automation language called Skill. It is used in Cadence Virtuoso (EDA tool).

Reminds me of the old days. When X11 was not correctly secured, i.e., most of the time, it was possible to remotely login to someone‘s system, take a screenshot of :0 and display it on :0. :0 is the local display, so the computer seemed to be frozen.

Yes, I was using the term thin client as they did in the article. DeX actually tries to make the phone the only computer one needs. Just connect a screen and either use the phone as keyboard/mouse or connect a physical device.
This might be even more interesting with Samsung TVs which allow wireless DeX. Have not seen this in action though.
Network operators could offer cheap data plans without allowing voice over them. Works for the Samsung S-Series tablets. Data is cheap, phone calls are disabled or charged separately.
For some users (e.g. elderly) an iPad with its large screen would make a better phone. They don't walk around talking (anymore). Also when wearing headphones, there is no need to lift the phone to the ear. Same goes talking to the watch.
Apple would cannibalize their computer and iPad sales if they were supporting the thin client model like Samsung DeX. See how they already avoid cannibalization of the iPhone business by preventing the iPad to make phone calls. They protect their product lines from each other.
As much as I like to see such a feature, I don’t think Apple will ever give it to us.
For me that would be the early first person games, in particular Ultima Underworld and Wolfenstein 3D.
Also the Settlers and Command and Conquer were quite important.

Good point. I meant to say that this regards only the three years mentioned. Then 2022 is above average.
While un my opinion there is a downwards trend since a few years, I would agree that there were quite a few years better than 2022 if the timeframe of a few decades is looked at, so many that is makes it difficult for 2022 to be at or above average.
2023 will be an average year. It will not be as good as 2022 but will be better than 2024.

Yes. This was posted after I wrote mine. I am a bit surprised that the median is so high. I would have expected a bigger difference, i.e. a few high value outliers pulling the median up further up.
Wouldn't it be better to use the median and not the average?
