WonderKiln | UI/UX & Illustration Designer | Remote

Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Location: Remote (we are located in Akron, Ohio)

Company Name: WonderKiln

This one is a bit more straight forward (posted a dev opportunity too), we are also looking for a part-time/full-time designer to jump into a existing design team. The main focus is on UI/UX Designer but with a talent for illustration to aid in crafting assets and moving the experience forward.

Similar to the dev opportunity above, the main focus is on independence and hitting deadlines while having almost complete free-reign! The projects will vary quite a bit so looking for someone flexible to jump between projects but who is also quite capable with regards to Web and App design w/ illustration.

Design-wise we have a small group already but are looking to expand it with someone very focused and dedicated time-wise. Happy to share our existing designs/buildouts upon request!

Like the dev opportunity above, we are looking for someone to jump in as part-time and work on ramping their hours up from there. We are looking for someone available immediately. If interested definitely reach out with availability (hours per week), hourly rate, and design examples!

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

WonderKiln | NodeJS/Meteor Backend Developer | Remote

Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Location: Remote (we are located in Akron, Ohio)

Company Name: WonderKiln

We are a small boutique consultancy, with a entirely remote team, heavily focused on great experiences (design, code, animations, etc). We take great pride in our design and development, only working on projects we build from the ground up handling design, brand, and development.

We are looking for another backend developer who is flexible and willing to work with an small existing team in a fully remote capacity. The key trait we are looking for is independence and self-motivation to tackle problems and hit deadlines. Experience with frontend development and a eye for implementing designs as per mockups/etc is a huge plus but not mandatory.

We currently work with MeteorJS as our primary framework and while experience with this is a big benefit, it's easy to pickup so if you don't have much experience, still feel free to reach out! Generally looking for experience with NodeJS, MongoDB, Angular/React/Vue, etc.

The goal is to find someone who can jump in as part-time and work on ramping their hours up from there. We are looking for someone available immediately. If interested definitely reach out with availability (hours per week), hourly rate, and past experience!

"I haven't driven a car that does this, but my guess is that it's noticeably simulated."

According to the article, BMW does this, and I can say from first-hand experience in a newer model that it's not noticeably simulated.

Yes, unless I am missing something. It's up to the developer (same as on Web w/ CSS Breakpoints) to accommodate the various 'breakpoints' or devices visually. To say it's poor UX is inaccurate, will there be plenty of unoptimized UI/UX full-screen apps? Sure, but the functionality itself is not poor UX.

Wow, this is exactly what I wanted a few months back when I was using Google Music extensively. This may get me to re-subscribe. Great job!

I know there is an auditing process whenever a breach occurs, so it somewhat makes sense. However, it really seems like companies intentionally announce a 'smaller' breach only followed up (99% of the time) with a 'massive' breach.

I would much prefer a initial 'massive' breach announcement (when possible), as that would breath a higher a level of transparency and honesty.

Shopify POS 13 years ago

I'm not entirely sure what your alluding to. My guess is that your claiming they took your idea and ran with it, which irks me.

All I will say is that its a bit unreasonable to assume that Shopify didn't have this in the game plan since going public. With Square slowly moving into Shopify's territory this is a fairly expected movement for Shopify.

Thanks for the feedback LaserChicken!

We have a few of these resolved in an update we are wrapping up today. However, #1 is a good catch, will be sure to fix that.

#2 is resolved in the next update, and #3 we will look into.

While I have not personally experienced #4, I will test this right now following your notes and add it to the list!

Really appreciate the detailed reports of the bugs.

Currently you cannot comment, post or vote from the app. It's possible, albeit more complicated. The problem is one of security, so we are taking a bit more time to ensure we do the commenting, posting and voting correctly.

This is something we will have in soon though!

Our company is 'Quixby', so the app website link is to that site as it's our main project currently. We don't have any dedicated app website is all, or we would link to that.

Im not really sure whats going on here. Github without a doubt is great, however, I'm not really sure how people like these changes. The UI and general flow is going from a concise, fairly simple site (design-wise) to a bloated feeling over-designed (useless icons, far to much white space, and removal of info) website.

This is concerning because its a sign of to much focus, going from x1 amount of resources to x10 means you risk over-developing what was great. You have too much time, to many resources, so you over develop things when they truly don't need any changes (at the time). The only saving grace here is they could be in the middle of a shift to a much larger vision, so these changes all seem poor until it all comes together in the following months. I have to ask though, why the shotgun approach to the updates then, they should take their time, once a week would be enough change for me, allow me to actually feel out the changes before adding more. =/
