Please do not use the GPIO of a Raspberry Pi to generate a high frequency to emit radio waves. Putting square waves on the air is always asking for trouble. A simple filter is not a proper solution if the source is so dirty.

For a project as well built of this seems, it seems odd that they would advice people to use such a hacky way. Syncing networked clients to play audio at exactly the same time is a solved problem.

I doubt it's useful to draw conclusions in today's world. The chart is almost two years old.

I personally have no issue with having to log-in to use the hosted Jitsi and have it store that I created a room. That's a small price to pay for the longevity of the service.

If logging in is an issue, you're still able to selfhost Jitsi just fine.

The dedicated Streetview app was finally killed because streetview is already integrated in regular google maps. To me, that seems like a good reason to discontinue the dedicated app.

I don't get the reasoning behind this article. Half of this list is side projects which didn't work out, which is understandable to a certain degree. The article feels like blogspam riding on the hypetrain of people disliking when google discontinues products like Stadia.

I don't agree the growing features is an issue.

I agree that Matrix is quite complicated. However, adding new features doesn't have to make it that more complicated. I get the impression that it's not that bad as most new features are actually based on existing parts of the protocol. Everything is just based on events in a room. Most 'special' events have a fallback mechanism to text, to insure clients that haven't implemented the event type can still show the information to the user. Replies and stickers make use of this for instance.

I think the argument made is regarding tracking. If I understand this architecture correctly, the use of a proxy would mean reddit can't correlate your browsing habits, as they'll be correlating all browsing habits of people using the proxy.

You seem to be perfectly aware of things you need to take into consideration. And you have even come to a solution. Sometimes things are just hard, but that doesn't say anything about your parenting abilities.

I'm not sure on the 50%. I didn't even know there was a separate tax. It seems unlikely to me as weed is still 'illegal'. The police won't look your way if you use it or sell it in shops. But everything that happens before the shop (growing and transport) is still very much illegal and you will get a big fine if you get caught. You are only allowed to have 5 grams or a small amount of plants.

For regular users, having software look great can be quite important. Especially when there is strong competition.

Firefox doesn't even make that many changes that breaks the workflow of regular users. From memory, the last time seems when the hamburger dropdown 'Applications Menu' was introduced. Normally UI-changes in Firefox are more non-breaking.

You are not paying money for Signal. But by using it, and getting others to use it, you are definitely improving their position on the market by helping them become a monopoly. Money isn't everything.

I have a different experience. Mostly I find articles specifically written for 'Raspberry Pi' of lower quality than articles that talk about Debian. A lot of Raspberry Pi tutorials tell you to just run these commands without explaining why or what is the consequence. That leads to all kinds of bad practises like 'curl | sudo bash' or configurating services without auth.

That is because the same happens every year. Even a bad AI or child (using OPs example) can plan for that. But when it comes to events that happen sporadically markets seem to have issues where most sane adults would be able to handle it.
