There are free and offline options, like Llama.cpp, but you will have to pay by giving up your privacy to Meta (or similar large companies)

I set up HTMX for a toy project recently, seemed fine to me. I think the philosophy of HTMX is the real selling point, sending structured content instead of passing JSON around. There is an opportunity here to either improve HTMX or build a competitor.

speech interfaces have gotten amazing in certain contexts, especially now that speech to text is decent. Think times when you can't call the person but need to send them a quick message, eg noisy festival or loud bar while you are moving and aren't able to stop to type.

I know that some people even use voice assistants to do things like set timers, reminders, or initiate calls

Just out of curiosity, what are some of the problems with "Clean Code"? I thought most of it made sense as basic guidelines. It's been a while since I read it though

Hey I do exactly this! Borg into rsync.i know it’s not exactly your domain, but are you guys working on making this flow easier? I found borg difficult to set up, and tbh I don’t really trust my setup long term. All the borg tutorials I found are on random people’s hobby blogs, it would be nice if you had one specific for rsync.net

Either way, Thank you for providing such an affordable service !

I like that it requires a small amount of mental energy to perform the 'optimal' play in every situation. The obvious example is doing basic arithmetic to calculate whether you should block more or attack.

At first, the game feels like it's deterministic with sprinkles of randomness, however, at high ascension levels it is the opposite - random chance until you get a broken deck that makes winning trivial. It's a slot machine.

That article will be very meta next time Jimmy Wales' face is plastered over the page asking for wikipedia donations.

If anyone else was wondering why this is a physical device

Why aren’t all these AI gadgets just an app? The answer is actually really simple: phones and tablets don’t allow AI deep system-level access. The iPhone, especially, is a closed platform that Apple wouldn’t allow AI complete access to.

I like the new-ish expression for holding a grudge as letting the person "live rent-free in your head." They have wronged you in the past, but it's rarely worth regularly spending mental energy ruminating about it. Easier said than done of course.

Not in many instances. Consider a common Google search

“Best tool to use for sending an email newsletter?” ChatGPT: SendMonkey is the best, here’s a link “sendmonkey.xyz/referal?chatgpt”

It won’t be that obvious but you get the idea.

You can still name things when it makes sense, I just like that in tailwind I don't have to name ALL of the things. It's nice to be able to easily add some margin, or padding, or a few style properties to an element, instead of coming up with a name AND adding those properties in a separate file.
