Teaching kids how to code does not mean that they will become programmers. Just like teaching them how to fish does not mean they will become fishermen. You are teaching them a skill that they can use (or not) in their adult life.

Indeed, there should be a warning in the title. This can cause seizures.

I just had a small panick attack when I realized what a mediocre (not productive) programmer I would be without SO. Then I had bigger panick attack thinking about that small panick attack I just had. What do we do if SO disappears today ? Is there some kind of mirror somewhere on the Internet?

Strange it doesn't work for me. I get a "Page not found".

When I click on a link I see another person's email address in the login box. I assume it's a facebook user's email.

Actually it was released a few months ago. The Google Apps Challenge 2012 [1] which started on June 5, is about apps built on top of it.

There is a similar bridge [1] in my parents' hometown (Man, Ivory Coast, West Africa). But over there, the legend says that it was created by spirits and that they come out at night to fix it. It's been there for decades.

Have you tried applying for CPT? (Curricular Practical Training)

You might also want to transfer to a community college (cheaper tuition) get some credits and go back to your original school.

And if none of these work, as difficult as this may sound, you should consider going home and coming back when you are in a better financial position; the last thing you want is to loose your legal status.

If you end up going back home, see it as an opportunity maybe to clear your mind and refocus, or maybe work on side projects, or maybe continue learn android.

The most important thing is to remain positive, no matter what. Stay focused on school and keep getting good grades.
