I love my deck, it's an incredible and capable device. But it was very clunky those first 2-3 years

I got the Steam Deck on release. It was a near solid device for me from the get go. Only had the occasional crash/reboot, but I wouldn't describe it as having been clunky.

Linux does work, but it would be nice if they activly worked on kernel modules for their hardware

Asahi Linux works on M1 & M2 macs, M3 and later are still being worked on. It should eventually get there, but we'll have to wait and see.

If they added a lens lock option (like the AE lock) it would fix this problem nicely.

Did you have to do anything special to get it to work? I tried and it would just bug out, things like respond with JSON strings summarizing what I asked of it or just outright getting things wrong entirely. For example, I asked it to summarize what a specific .js file did and it provided me with new code it made up based on the file name...

My kids would routinely put in too much powder, which would gunk up the dispensing mechanism, requiring my time and effort to clean it out and fix it. Eventually the dispenser broke entirely and had to be replaced. We since switched to pods and haven't had any problems with the dispenser. The pods are worth every extra cent.

would you feel common ground with a predatory fish?

The fish needs to eat, I need to eat. The fish has the drive to procreate, so do I, or at least I have a sex drive.

Or a plant?

We both need sunlight to live, we both require a breathable atmosphere. We both need water.

An insect colony?

Much of the above applies here as well, in addition to that I can see similarities between a large insect colony and our large cities, how things move, how roads and buildings are adjusted for efficiencies, how bad actors can harm the system.

Yes, I can see common ground between myself and all three of those things you listed.

The same Homepod that almost sold as poorly as Vision Pro despite a $349.99 MSRP?

The HomePod did poorly because competitor offerings with similar and better performing features were priced under $100. The difference in sound quality was not worth the >3x markup.

I had a bit of fun playing with the orbital mechanics of it. First soaring around the planet core, then around the planet itself.

At one point I flew far enough into space that I passed the star objects and everything got dark. That was a bit disquieting.

Very cool little game!
