I'm going to make a personal social events coordinator of sorts where I give it my interests, tell it where it can find local events related to those interests, then let it suggest them as they come up and add them to my calendar. Then I can just show up and do the fun stuff and automate the boring part of finding things to do.

Then spend less time on screens when you're not working. The post says "Go to meetups and events. Offer help. Offer introductions. Learn to be a connector." These are all outside of work activities. Also, these don't have to be tech events. They can be anything, just unplug, get out there, and meet people.

What This Means in Practice

You’re mistaking forefoot striking with toe walking. Having known someone that toe walks, it literally means they walk around on the balls of their feet, not just land on them first when they take a step. The healthcare issue doesn't even make sense. Democrats passes the ACA and were going to create a public option but couldn't gather enough Republican support to ensure it could pass. There are a lot of similarities when it comes to their tendency towards Corporatocracy and military spending, but it largely ends there.

When it comes to taxes, fiscal priorities, rights for individuals, foreign policy, crime and punishment, and of course social issues they are very different and in most cases take the opposite approach.

For example, Republicans want lower taxes for the wealthy while Democrats want lower taxes for the lower and middle classes. Republicans want to restrict individuals rights - especially for non-christian white males, Democrats don't. Republicans favor heavy handed punishment including capital punishment, Democrats favor rehabilitation and a ban on capital punishment. Republicans want to blow up the national debt through tax breaks and pork, Democrats want to control the debt through responsible spending and investments. Republicans want to stop investment in education and science while Democrats want to increase investment in these areas. These are all very real and not just aesthetics.

That’s true. The problem here was that Synadia never fully transferred the trademark, seemingly in bad faith. When Synadia told the CNCF that it needed to transfer NATS back, they claimed that the CNCF didn’t own the trademark and therefore didn’t own the project.

As endurance hunters our bodies are tuned for efficient use of energy during low/medium paced exercise. Walking is awesome, and I try to get out there and do an hour a day, but I agree - you get much better results from the gym because our bodies aren’t specifically tuned for those types of workouts. I’m sorry but there’s no way anyone was giving “oh’s of delight” at the windows 11 start menu. I built a gaming PC with my son that uses windows 11, and after using only Linux and MacOS for years it really was disappointing to see just how poorly Windows performs. The start menu isn’t the worst thing about the platform, but it certainly isn’t eliciting delight.

When you say “all popular models” do you mean the commercial models or open source as well? My assumption is that you’d need to run an oss model at the minimum and maybe apply some jailbreaking on top of that.

It’s very poorly written then. It has a clickbait title and uses content that is easily dismissed before getting to the point.

There are plenty of great business books out there that aren't pop business books. For every critique listed there's a corresponding book that covers the topic.

I hope people don't expect to get an MBA's worth of content from a single book. Business is a subject that can be taught in schools or learned through self-study - either requires time and dedication. Whichever method you choose, you'll still need real-world experience to master it.
