If someone were 100% satisfied with everything around them, there would be no reason for them to move or change anything.

It's not that simple. Not moving or doing anything is a decision in itself with consequences.

We _are_ making progress in space exploration but the moon isn't of much interest anymore. The technology that is being developed to reach Mars for example is "technology we don't currently posses."

It's true with the normal definition of happiness. Think about it. Whatever you're doing now is an attempt to get you to a happy state. If you're already happy, it'll fade and you will take more actions to be happy again. This seems to be part of our human condition.

Paper Planes 10 years ago

Use devtools device toolbar and you'll get the option to fold and throw a plane.

I thought the Ancient Aliens series was interesting. A group of friends showed it to me and some believed in it. However, we started following the logic they use and it basically boils down to this:

We don't know how this was done so therefore Aliens did it.

So the most honest thing they can actually say is they don't know.

I can empathize with others in this thread saying that his lifestyle is unhealthy (which is probably based on the anti-workaholic ideals a lot of us hold). However, he is just describing what worked for him to get to where he is and he seems to have accomplished a lot. Not only that, he describes how he is keeping himself healthy.

One reason for his success is that he multitasks well, whereas humans typically do not. This enables him to work the way he did/does.

The top post at the moment states that he will cause the "detriment of his quality of life." Actually, it seems he has improved his quality of life significantly (he left his corporate job, has more time to spend with his family, etc.). The top post OP also mentions not finishing the article so he may have missed all that.

Someone else stated that he is just boasting about "how awesome" he is. I did not get this vibe, but from my perspective, he is someone who has the confidence to speak about his subject. Which is completely fine. You should have a level of confidence when it comes to your craft and there's nothing wrong with that.

As stated in this article, this might not work for everyone. This is true, people work differently. Some people, oddly enough, don't need breaks. I do. And so on..

This is a classic fight or flight situation [0] where you are choosing flight.

There is no use being quiet at work. Everyone knows you are a junior so it's ok to act like one. Ask questions. Say "I don't know how to do this. Can you show me?" You'll find that even the "rock stars" don't know everything. It may be hard to ask those questions without feeling discomfort, embarrassment or even anger. Leverage those feelings to ask the hard questions. This might help alleviate some of the suffering you experience after work.

If none of that works then it's time to look for another job.

It's very unlikely we know everything about this situation that they do.

They explicitly mention that they are not sharing all of the evidence.

ChangeTip must die 12 years ago

It's critical to not conflate Bitcoin with ChangeTip. The two are, in effect, separate currencies.

I might be missing something here but ChangeTip is not a currency.

1) look up paper wallets.

bitcoin is at a stage where it's not trivial to secure if you are not a technical person. There are companies that are working at making this easier by providing the security and even insuring the bitcoins if something happens. When services like this are out we will see a huge turning point IMO.

I find that I get a similar result when I work from the home office even during business hours. Although distractions can be nice sometimes, during crunch time, I'd rather WFH to minimize them.
