99/month is more than I have been willing to pay for FSD, but if it lowers my insurance by 200/month, I could be convinced.

I have use round robin for years.

Wish I could add instructions like:

- random choice #round robin, like now

- first response # usually connects to closest server

- weights (1.0.0.1:40%; 2.0.0.2:60%)

- failover: (quick | never)

- etc: naming countries, continents

Feature request for any service like this: Let "me" know if it is a school, so I know that I am probably dealing with minors, a public environment and a firewall. Of course, you need to do the work (rDNS to start) to identify the schools.

I love the speed of the responses!

I wish Motorcycles would emit some "noise" in the radio spectrum that says "Motorcycle over here!". My car gets the signal and does ... something with it. (Kids' shoes, too.) Not a perfect solution, but better than what we have now.

This site is great and is one of my favorites. I occasionally check it and set an alarm on my phone. I will announce to the people that I am with "satellites passing in 3 minutes", run outside and impress people. Great fun. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Eventbrite might be the new Meetup. I was searching Meetup for events of a certain type and got nothing interesting. Eventbrite had quite a few events.

Anyone successful using eventbrite to find groups?

You have a good point about the comma. I am not sure what the use of the word "funds" tells me. I think in the US, only the highly-educated or those in the financial industry would use that term instead of "money" (bitcoin?). It very well could be much more common in other parts of the, umm, anglosphere.

I am just saying that it is idiomatic North American English. I, for instance, could not write in idiomatic British English if I tried. For instance, your use of "state" in your username and "anglosphere" in your one sentence strongly hints to me that your English is not purely North American. (I see your profile, too.) The vast majority of Americans would use different terms.

he should have easily been able to garnish a minimum of a 10 cent CPM

Uh, not in my experience. I haven't tried to monetize a site like this, but I would expect a CPM around 1 cent. Still, times 50 million, it isn't nothing.

Windows Update. To reboot a server, you need to take it out of production. With a TTL of 5 minutes, it can take an hour for (nearly) all users to stop using that server.

The group said the Digital Markets Act - new EU tech rules in the pipeline that would prevent dominant online platforms from favouring their own services - would take too long to come into effect.

“Many of us may not have the strength and resources to wait until such regulation really takes effect,” they said.

That act seems to do basically what they want and it seems that it would take effect in the next year or two. Does it take longer?

My phone has Google Fi VPN. This VPN doesn't do everything, but websites now think I'm in Mountain View. I am nowhere close. Is a VPN a better solution? I understand that Google might not be the best company to trust here, but they did give it to me for free and it is working fine.

Startup Pivots 7 years ago

But will there be a future pivot? "Tesla pivoted from the original idea of selling cars to robo-taxis in 20xx."
