If random Twitter users send @mentions to "@mywebrtclobby" then no other users will likely see these tweets unless they already follow each of the various Twitter users sending the @mentions.

However if you connected @mywebRTClobby with https://GroupTweet.com you could configure things so that any @mentions (from authorized users or anyone) would be converted into actual tweets from the @mywebRTClobby account so that all followers would actually see those tweets/contact details.

So if you use a VPN and incognito mode without logging into any online account, Google, Facebook, et al can still track you accurately?

Curious any other tools besides vpn and private mode you would recommend?

Any more links to read about these behaviorial, software and and type style tracking methods?

To be fair, once you hit 260 characters, it starts counting down, showing you that you have 20 characters left.

I like the circle. It puts less emphasis on number of characters you are using, so perhaps people won't be as motivated to use up all 280.

You can easily use Twitter search logged out or without an actual Twitter account: https://twitter.com/search-home. Not hard to see the same google copy and pasters will just move to Twitter search.

Some thoughts on item #3:

Offering the ability to follow hashtags in their current form would simply lead to more hashtag spam.

However I agree with your basic premise that following topics and geographical Tweets would be very useful. One of the main reasons I built GroupTweet. Allow people to form and manage "group" topical or location based accounts with any number of contributors while giving some admin controls like limiting approval to all or only select participants, moderation, etc.

Honest question - why not just unfollow those people that incessantly tweet worthless information?

I'm not saying its easy to find quality Twitter users to follow - but its certainly easy to unfollow bad users.

Twitter could certainly improve their algorithms that recommend people to follow, surface good content, etc.

That's one of the reasons I built GroupTweet. To facilitate private group communication on Twitter with any number of participants that can persist through permanent Twitter accounts (instead of temporary Group DMs that are limited to 20 people).

Hmm. Driving from provider to provider when trying to "shop around" is really not that feasible for most people.

But I suppose it could work better. I'm skeptical though. Finding the appropriate "accounting" folks in person would be a nightmare. A lot of the hospitals and providers I've dealt with use "third party" billing so your in person strategy with these types of parties would basically be impossible.

This is not common. Not sure why you feel so compelled to disagree with all the other posters regarding their headaches with healthcare billing/cost experiences throughout this thred. Odd.

I contacted multiple hospitals for cost estimates on a simple procedure (hours of phone calls) and only one would actually give me an "estimate." They went out of their way to explain that this was only an estimate and it could easily end up costing more than this due to a number of factors.

I really doubt any hospital will ever give you a committed price for any procedure. I would love to be proven wrong from any other posters :).

As most of the people in this thread have experienced its a maddening process. I've tried several times for routine procedures and its a huge headache that takes lots of time and lots of waiting on hold.

No problems with iMessage screwing you over when switching from Apple to Android? If you ever participate in any group mms messages its borderline impossible to escape apples ecosystem without serious drawbacks.

If you switch to android and want to still receive group mms from friends, every member of the group mms that has an iPhone has to delete the entire thread and start a new thread. Not only that, they each need to add you or another non ios member as the first person in their new mms.

Pretty ridiculous and irresponsible if you ask me.

Elon's battery tech has serious negative environmental impacts yet the majority of people think its perfectly green because the media hasn't yet vilified this industry like they have fossil fuels.

Can specific apps still block airplay? I haven't used AppleTV in a long time, but it was crazy frustrating when certain apps restricted you from being able to airplay to a big screen.

I'm guessing mirroring the entire screen might be a possible workaround but I thought perhaps apps could detect this as well and shutdown.

This is an entirely misleading garbage statistic.

This statistic only relates to the rather small Kansas City Missouri public school district which only contains an estimated 17,500 students.

The author is misleading readers to believe that this statistic relates to all the schools in a relatively large US City named "Kansas City."

Per wikipedia:

In fact, there are portions of Kansas City, Missouri, where children attend 14 other "suburban" districts. In other words, the Kansas City District comprises the oldest parts of the city and is not contiguous with the boundaries of the city of Kansas City, Missouri.

So if we look up the total demographic of students that live in that same small geographic footprint I'd wager to say its not much higher than 9% white. (although that information is proving much more difficult to find)

This is exactly why I prefer buying "dumb" tvs and simply adding chromecast/appletv/firetv, etc. Much better experience.

I purchase all expensive electronics on my AMEX card. They offer an additional year on all manufacturers warranty at no additional cost, along with 90 day purchase protection for any accidental damage. Its fantastic.

Visa Signature offers similar coverage, however making a claim with Visa vs Amex is a much bigger headache.

I've submitted multiple warranty and purchase protection claims with AMEX and its about the easiest process imaginable. Highly recommended.

Group DMs are not yet available through the API. Its not clear if/when they will make Group DMs available via the API.

As for GroupTweet, only a small subset of our users use GroupTweet for Group DM type purposes. I'm optimistic that this native functionality will educate the masses on the possibilities of Twitter Group DM's which will lead "power users" to look to GroupTweet to provide a more "full featured" group DM experience.

Working on a blog post to illustrate the GroupTweet advantages, but things like:

1) A GroupTweet Group DM account is permanent compared to a more ephemeral Group DM thread. No need to figure out who to add to the conversation each time, etc.

2) Never lose your messages. Full archival capabilities & storage with a GroupTweet Group DM account. Twitter will only display your 100 most recent DM conversations.

3) No limit on number of group members vs Twitter's native Group DM limit of 20 people.

4) Full control over who is included the the Group DM. With Twitter's native functionality, any group member can invite anyone else into the conversation. With GroupTweet, the group admin(s) have full control over who is allowed in the group, who has posting privileges vs read-only, etc.

5) With a GroupTweet group DM account, you get all the advantages of a full fledged Twitter account. Things like Twitter analytics, GroupTweet contributor analytics (which members are participating & sending the best messages), downloading your Tweet history, linkable messages, etc.

6) More customizable notifications. Not all or nothing approach for regular DMs.

7) GroupTweet Group DM's will work with every Twitter client. If you try and start a Group DM with your friends that are using Tweetbot, Hootsuite, or any other third party twitter client, they won't receive the message.

The problem is, in most cities, it's impossible to take advantage of Sprint's "unlimited data plans" because their data speeds are abysmal. I would love to go back to sprint eventually, but for now I'm happy with T-mobile in Denver/Chicago.

I can confirm that that little device no longer works. The old models worked without the VGA portion needing to be plugged in, however the new models shipping from China don't work unless the VGA unit is plugged into something, which basically defeats the purpose.

Exactly his point and the one you are missing. Google had the foresight to invest in chrome, android, gmail, and Chromecast years ago.

At the same time people like you thought they were silly for pursuing products that had no short term revenue or ecosystem benefits.

Ignoring in the sense that Paypal thinks its worth their time to facilitate consumer transactions based on bitcoin.

As the bloomberg article states, if I have to factor in my my capital gains tax liability with each purchase of an ebook or mp3, then that is a royal pain and would lessen my desire to use bitcoin for everyday purchases.

It seems to me that perhaps Paypal just see's the IRS guidelines as a non-factor for consumers who will largely just ignore the guidance similar to how consumers are technically supposed to pay state sales tax on online purchases.
