Kite was good, integrations were plentiful, sad to see them go! I hope Tabnine learns from this and ups their game, I love what they are doing. Not so sold on Github Copilot yet, and probably the observations of Kite are applicable to Github Copilot, but due to their deeper pockets they may survive long enough to make to the AI breakthrough needed to get this product/class of products flying!

Which ever masters+university combo you choose, pick the one that gives you time to explore things around your chosen area. At, your experience level, academics alone will not help, you should be able leverage what you already know and are good at alongside your academics.
In my case, I was good at software and had opted for masters in business. In my free time I explored more on that area while on campus like - hacking groups, startup weekends, inter university competitions (Princeton, Penn, CUNY) and such. By the end of my masters I was able to start my own startup and we got picked by Techstars.
PhD's I'm not sure. Although, I would love to explore it yet again, perhaps in my 50's :)
I prefer the multi monitor setup and use at least one in portrait/vertical mode. Fits with my ide and jupyter notebooks
this looks like a cool tool.
My problem was that i had collected a lot of such links and simply wasnt able to go thru all. So I had built this app that took all the links in the bookmark and summarized it.
You can check it out at https://www.makemysummary.com anyone is welcome to try it out, it summarizes youtube, podcasts and webpages
If your app has zapier integration then anyone can route their bookmarks via MakeMySummary and get them summarized
Yes, it does feel that way. And yet I am doing it the second time. As a founder you are the janitor and the CEO and everything in between at the same time. It’s fun when it works out like last time, but I will find out soon if it’s fun the second time around.
Try it with an AirBnb and see if it works out. It worked for me. Can’t say if it’s good for you or not, but it can give good perspective of your cofounders that can be if help later.
my solution has been bookmark in Pocket -> Zapier -> MakeMySummary -> Todoist
1. Collect in Pocket 2. On a new add to Pocket trigger a Zapier task to Summarize it 3. Summarize the item in MakeMySummary https://www.makemysummary.com. Although this is optional, i find it easier to have some sense of the item i bookmarked without reading/viewing it fully. And i built it in my spare time to solve this exact problem. 4. On Summary done, Zapier will make a Todoist Task for me to review at a later time
Added benefit with Pocket is its searchable, so if and when i need, i can look up something i bookmarked. Google links expire as several noted in the comments.
Build a small aquarium and learn to care for the fish. No more than 10 fish. It's almost a zen exercise.
Boredom is good, its very hard to get bored these days with so many things needlessly wanting our attention.
But definitely try the aquarium.
attend startup weekends, hackathons and other places where such folks congregate. You may not get the right partner right away, but you will get to know the people who are in a similar boat as you. From there you have to do a trial and error to zero in the partners that suite you.
Medium is the easiest to get going
Perfectly doable. I have had the same experience. If you want a work visa for the cofounder then there may be additional cap table adjustments to be done. As you will have to prove that the non US person is not and cannot be self sponsoring for a work visa.
Its a Python-Flask-Gunicorn-Docker base with inferencing using PyTorch/FastAI CNN's and some AWS services. I will release a proper stack diagram in a while.
Founder here,
I built this app to summarize any News/Blog articles or Youtube videos into a few lines of text. It saves me time and attention from having to go through an entire article or video, instead, I can read the summary and decide if an article is worth my time to read further.
The app can be accessed as the website or via Zapier integration for those who are interested in automating their process. I have put in free and paid subscription plans as AI resources are not cheap to operate :(.
I integrated it with Zapier so that summaries can be automatically generated for content originating in from RSS feeds, Emails, Bookmarking software like Pocket, Youtube channels, etc
Looking for feedback!
Zapier users can click here for the beta invite of the integration https://zapier.com/developer/public-invite/64050/536dc46f726...
Also the Viable part of MVP is subjective. As you build the MVP, your idea of what is viable changes. This needs to be accounted for. The minimum product has to be viable for a paying customer. If the MVP is not a paid product the you can get away with less polish, not so with paid products.
My personal experience is that traditional software estimation techniques don’t work when done for a MVP situation. Yes it’s frustrating like hell to not know how long before your money, patience and interest runs out. In a non MVP situation some estimation models work, some 40% of time. But managers make it look like they work all the time. Cutting scope to hit deadline doesn’t count.
some of the object detection ai systems do actually rotate the images in 4 to 8 ways like in fast.ai. when trained with such input data, the ai detects the object in almost all orientations.
Politics first, business next and then tech, and in that order is what you need to master. I have experienced it first hand, I was not ready for the first skill fully, takes a while for techies to warm up to it.
Yes YMMV is my experience too following any of the suggestions. Sometimes I have hired the best and sometimes I have hired real snakes :) using such guidelines
this is super awesome! love it, thanks for sharing spacevim is exactly what I have been looking for
yes, this is the right way to go. public money is used to research and the public doesn't have access to the results is odd. ArXiv is the way to go at this time.
Wow, this is such an bump up in the specs
good one!
more reason to use the Brave browser instead of Chrome. Essentially the Chrome browser without the Google bindings. Use the crypto features or not, it has been working for me and my mac runs way more cooler when i had been using Chrome.
