As impressive as this might seem let's think about fundamentals.

Statistical models will output a compressed mishmash of what they were trained on.

No matter how hard they try to cover that inherent basic reality, it is still there.

Not to mention the upkeep of training on new "creative" material on a regular basis and the never ending bugs due to non-determinism. Aside from contrived cases for looking up and synthesizing information (Search Engine 2.0).

The Tech Industry is over investing in this area exposing an inherent bias towards output rather than solving actual problems for humanity.

"And what I think makes ChromeOS really powerful is Crostini, a full Linux VM that you can run inside ChromeOS"....

This is akin to the person that uses their left hand to touch their right ear....

Both MacOS and Windows offer that without all constraints and privacy negligent services from Google/Alphabet.

I mean all the rainbow stuff is crippling our society from an objective perspective. If a war broke out, historically tried philosophies and objectively useful skills will take precedence. If you see how fragmented the younger generations are based on materialistic criterias you'd think it's a psyop operation to divide the nation up to the polarized state we're in. Almost nothing getting done with stalemates up the wazzouu.

Sorry to hear this. Same situation with 100lbs of extra weight -.- Cut out video games and I seem to be doing better. But have so many more things to tackle including my health.

I'd like to blame covid and the whole wfh crap which has made a lot of ppl colder than usual (at least that's my impression).

I'm still grateful for my beautiful family and having a job but man is it a struggle.

Hey! Same here! Moved teams in same company and I feel so alone it's crazy! Many engineers are introverted and/or already have relationships they've built before covid hit. No matter how hard a i try to connect through the chat window, in just don't get the same reciprocation as I get from face to face.

I've been coming to office to run into more ppl but alas, no one comes. So just as you, it's very lonely here and it's hard to get attached to work when you haven't met anyone face to face.

It's a sad state of affairs indeed. It is is annoying that tax companies will be taxed so aggressively.

There's a middle ground in a lot of things but it seems like Europe is becoming very antagonistic with aggressively taxing US tech companies.

Yes, me too. Although I'd hypothesize you would like to explore tangential parts of the lessons rather than heads down follow without mental digestion.

It baffles me how much the alcohol industry keeps pushing fake studies about the "benefits" of alcohol. As if ANY of those benefits can be obtained without the poison of alcohol.

Oh well, people drinking.... social darwinism. Drink away I guess

Softbank is getting murdered after the office-space-renting-hype-company (I'm blanking on the name because my brain is filtering BS startups with BS useless features).

I guess, after irrational lauding of this untouchable investment group, it's time for calibration??

Maybe try not to blindly follow people and think rationally in the first place?!

These studies are annoying and just smell like envy by the most average parasites in this industry. How about you focus on adding value and setting the right price for yourself.

Some are grateful with 100k and others 500k. You can negotiate your price because you're an adult.

If you can't, then grow up.

If this isn't fluff, then I don't know what is. The usual run of the mill, new byte sized words and overcomplicating simple concepts that most of us inherently do.

Of course, the author is a consultant in corporate "well being". Nothing bad initially but when it's fluff.... nay!

As long as you're productive and meeting deadlines, I couldn't care less about the "hours" you're in the office.

Also, the market well balance itself. If someone is more productive they'll be rewarded more.

I just don't want the "equal outcome" crowd to start enforcing equal pay when most of them are clocking in minimum hours and others are over-delivering.

This is for merit based companies, which personally I can't fathom non-merit based ones.
