WDYM lost? do you roam? I used to have a job with simple OpenVPN to connect to the servers (via public IP, just routed through the VPN tunnel) and ssh connections stayed during my trip from office to home. Probably needs both sides not to be overly aggressive with keepalives and such. VPN just reconnected at home, but tun0 device and its local ip stayed the same, ssh connections also stayed.

If you do not roam other side may do TCP keepalives or even ssh protocol keepalives and close the connection for you. Unless you can tune that, not much to do.

Other solutions might be mosh (mobile shell; haven't tried) or just running screen or tmux on the other end and just resume where you left of after quick reconnect.

ssh-add -c (confirm) can somehow mitigate the "misuse of ssh-agent in the background" the article is talking about

I do use such an approach and it is actually awesome however only for data I'm sure I don't mind being sold.

I use tmux in all my terminal sessions. It can search. It's not grep, but 95% of the time it's enough and the 5% I capture the output to a file myself using tmux's it's copy/paste function. I wouldn't mind such functionality if it wasn't mouse-based. But switching terminal just for this not. But seeing an idea executed it always nice.

Depends on when, that's why we need gas and other dispatchables. We've no grid-scale energy storage as of now. So saying they're cheaper isn't comparing apples to apples.

There were a lot of tools/frameworks to create software "without coding". I believe the problem is some people are understanding the complexity in a wrong way. Coding isn't complex (and today it is much more true than it used to be) because of some natural complexity of coding itself. Rather it is because it strives to express complex ideas. And whichever language (visual, textual) is used to express complex ideas it has to be at least as complex as those ideas themselves. I personally found that having a formal language is often easier to express complex ideas compared to any visual tool I have seen. One place where these tools can shine would be probably trivial apps. Maybe that's the point...

I'm rooting for LPP Fusion https://lppfusion.com/ it is a "garage" startup but their approach of using plama instability instead of trying to stabilize it (and the fact they're very close already to net gain https://lppfusion.com/investing-in-lppfusion/our-plan-to-net...) sure sounds great. Garage sized 5MW aneutronic pb11 fusion reactor with direct-to-electricity conversion sure sounds like something we all can use :)

What does HN crowd think of companies like hb11 or lppfusion which try to construct much smaller but still powerful (lpp plans for 5MW, relatively small, reactor. They also want to use a different fuel that produces very little neutrons, thus very low radiocativity. And moreover they do not need thermal part as electricity is generated by directly collecting alpha particles (and some Xrays IIRC). It _feels_ to me like ITER is inheritance from old times - trying to build the reactor the way we always did (i.e. thermal; and also using the "easiest" to ignite fuel - but that produces a lot of radiocativity compared to hB11 fuel). As someone pointed out here in comments, there are already better magnets than those used in ITER even now. Don't get me wrong, it would be sooo cool if ITER succeeded and started fusion energy generation, but it is just taking too long.
