Agree. I used to enjoy the nerd or technical articles on how stuff works, why it is optimized for speed, why it is not secure etc...more on technical stuff and the startup world ecosystem. Now a days I only see breaking news type of articles which I can easily find in any other websites.

Yes, I use the bookmarks. While bookmarking I try to categorise a url with hashtags (e.g #javascript). This makes the search easier based on grouping of hashtags.

Instead of working for a large corporation. Try working for small to mid size companies where you get to wear many hats and interact with many departments. This can be exciting and may open to other opportunities.

Other option is to go self-employed contract roles where you can set hours and bill rates. You can opt to work part-time and full-time based on your work-life balance and simultaneously fulfil your entrepreneurial impulses.

VSCode with Plugins get the job done.

IMHO, don't chase the next fad thing.

Be an expert in two to three things. Currently, I concentrate on React, TypeScript, GraphQL, APIs (Axios). This keeps me busy and continue to be for next couple of years.

All good points about the marketing, billing and presence on social media. Worth reading for the folks who want to be in consulting side.

Certifications can act as filter when competing with other candidates. Candidates with certification will have edge during initial or first round. However it is not the deciding factor while making hiring decision.

If you want to learn new stack then please take the certification and get acquainted. Real world experience cannot replace the certification.

AWS has more popularity and acceptability. There are so much of free and paid tutorials online and one pass with relatively minimal effort.

If you are targeting to work in Enterprise sector, I would recommend to take Azure Cloud certification. Azure certs are gaining lot more traction.

Taking a Niche or Specialty certs like (AWS ML, AWS Security) will have lot more weightage during the interview process. The specialty certs are difficult to crack and need some real experience.
