There's other ways to communicate with other people online, you see? That's overlap! /s

The Boglehead's Guide to Investing, mostly because my coworkers frequently ask for advice regarding their 401ks and IRAs, and it's a solid baseline for frugal investing.
I think he's talking about the luxury yachts... interceptors can't covops cloak. (And t3's can't instant warp _and_ have bubble immunity)
The simplest way to explain it is that it is google's version of docker swarm.
Aside from that, it's a way to manage the deployment of containers across one or more hosts. Getting more traffic than usual? You have a program that detects it and sends a command to kubernetes/dockerswarm that tells it to scale up the number of web containers. Stuff like that.
This article explains very little about the actual technique. Digging into the paper, it seems like this has to do more with training a network with multiple data sources at the same time, to take advantage of related patterns across data sets.
I'm not professionally versed in NNs myself, but what would be the closest equivalent to recreating this sort of training with tools available today? (in Keras or R for instance)
What type of compensation is appropriate for disparity in people's DNA? And, separately, how is DNA related to power?
You can use this sort of thing as a measuring point; when something like this is overlooked and inconvenient, you can tell they're making statements based on their agenda (the trend in the MSM, which is why you can see public trust dropping in them; they're not all stupid, they know it's not consistent). On the other hand, you've got people that make statements based on principle, and even if you still disagree with them, you feel it would still be nice to hang out with them, like they didn't establish their relationship with you by trying to lie to you through selective truths?
The cost of raising agenda above both principle and truth comes at the cost of a massive amount of people and freedoms, and their pretty statements about caring about any group of people don't hold water. (I'm looking at you SJWs and Aryan Supremacists)
I get daily use from my two echos with these functions: set a timer for x minutes, remind me to x at y am/pm, set an alarm for y am/pm, connect to my phone (so I can play bluetooth music), what time is it (when I'm in bed at night; I prefer not to have a bright clock splitting the darkness). A lot of this stuff my phone can already do, but it's easier not having to always pull out my phone. I've never used it for ordering, amazon music, lights, or to ask it questions for its biased responses.
This is so true. With all the chaos that wall street likes to drum up about investing, the index just keeps going up up up. Is it the same ego feeling you get for thinking you can "beat the system" when gambling that makes people feel like they can "beat the system" when speculating in the stock market?
Very interesting concept, but is the actual paper linked here available to read online?
This article is the 5%.
A more accurate way of detecting "fake news" would be interesting, but I fail to see how such a thing could be designed, past simple detection of wishy-washy and avoidant word patterns.
38.4% still think they are the target. If their dream is to be in the 1%, they may not want to add new penalties or rules for their potentially future selves.
This seems like a rather glaring omission to have gone unaddressed for so long by such a giant? Has it not come up before?
Yesterday's Chinese Social Media propaganda article is an interesting application of this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15708560
I've heard that it's the Swedish government itself that is hiding those answers. Can that accusation be substantiated?
Good to see that it will be a quiet transition. Linus would approve.
I don't think that is necessarily true. I think the 'large group of people' do not deny that climate change exists. I find they come to a conclusion somewhere in the ballpark of: Sure, natural climate change exists, but manmade climate change is an insignificant factor in this, and/or humans have little ability to overpower natural climate change and turn it around (cooling it, even if we're in a naturally warming stint). Misinformed, perhaps, but rational.
Not unlike the apathetic feeling that causes people not not show up at the polls.
My thoughts exactly.
This means Google would be determining whether Taiwan is an independent country or not, making either China, or more probably Taiwan unhappy. Something besides the browser would need to determine what your list of countries is, like the site itself... but a solution like that is much less elegant. Chrome having regional behavior also just sounds like more mess for devs. Some sites will deliberately want to pick sides, and should be able to.
Geographic data will have to come from somewhere, to add countries to this list that "don't exist" in whatever the built-in list of country options is.
This is really neat to see in Lua. The first(?) issue on the project highlights this nicely: https://github.com/zeta0134/LuaGB/issues/1
I constantly underestimate the reach a project like this can have; in this case, the possibility to reuse this base for other easily-portable emulators.
I've been following this project since it began, good luck once you start tackling speed!
If there is a truly unstoppable loop (considering usage of the word "may" or such optional ability to continue or break a loop) then the game is considered a tie. There are tournament rules regarding players intentionally drawing out the game (it's against the rules), but I don't think there's any rule against a deck that simply runs long (or really long).
Progression through Guild Wars rewards you with access to new skills. At any given time you can only bring 8 of those skills (and only 1 of them can be elite) with you at any given time. In addition, your character is limited to using skills from 2 classes. Many of the skills have specific interactions or triggers. Some skill specifically counter, defend against, or take advantage of other skills. Mobs have a set of skills (including some mob-only skills). The result is a logic puzzle that may have many solutions, left for the player to figure out.
Players have fairly easy access to all skills and max-level equipment in the game. Skills are (almost) never made obsolete by other skills, so you could very well be using the exact same skill you learned early in the game while you fight the final boss. The challenge is finding the combination of skills and gear to best suit your needs at any given task. Comparable to collecting tools to add to your toolbox, a screwdriver can solve new problems for you, but it doesn't make the hammer any less useful.

Ok I'll stop now. Some of these are pretty amusing though.
When my friends need new dealers there's only one word I tell them, Dealr.
As others have stated: Have a new job lined up before submitting this letter. Make the letter neutral, and keep the frustrations to yourself.
You may be able to use your current employment as leverage as you locate this new job. I was personally in a very similar situation, the end result was that the new company wanted to hire me ASAP and offered a decent pay raise over my current job; I put in my two weeks notice and revealed nothing. In the end, I was offered a raise at my old job (turned down); months later they wanted to contract me for some work on the weekend, and they've made it clear there's an open door if I ever want to return. Requesting two weeks before you can begin work (for time to put in your two weeks notice) to your new employer also demonstrates your loyalty and stability, something a good employer will recognize & respect.
edit: My resignation also marked the first of my team's mass exodus. 6 months later, everyone I worked with has left, and they've got a completely new team. A word of warning (at least in the US), you don't want to be caught trying to get your coworkers to leave, and especially not to get them to follow you to a new employer.
I think this was brought about by a recent conflict that occurred (and gained some attention on reddit at least) on twitter. Mojang has been well aware of servers that "sell" in-game items and in-game features (the ability to teleport or fly, for instance) for a fee. This is against Mojang's TOS, and Mojang has taken down several servers in the past for various TOS violations including this pay-to-win stuff. During the recent twitter bout, a Mojang representative stated there was a distinction between a server accepting donation, and a server rewarding donations/selling ingame benefits. A server accepting donations in order to continue running is A-OK, but a server selling benefits violates the TOS.
This recent activity from Mojang to reclarify their TOS and actively tackle violations was likely a result of last week's twitter bout.
