What kind of Mac mini do you use (cpu and ram)? I’m really interested in making the same thing but I’m not sure if the base M4 mini is enough with just 16gb of ram.

Agree. As a native speaker, I found these examples to be weird at best. No way any native would write or speak like that.
Because sponsoring an employment based GC takes considerably more time than filling for an H1B. We're talking at best less than a year for an H1B (filling in April and you receive it in October of the same year) vs 18 months minimum for an European (10+ years for an Indian).
I actually got my H1B at my 2nd try. I did not get pick at my 1st try and had to wait until next year but it went quite smoothly. However for my GC, it took 4 years between the initial conversation with my employer and getting it in my hands. The actual process itself, from the moment the lawyers received all the documents, took 2 years.
What would be cool is if we could run some kind of jobs in a docker container on those instances with the nvidia drivers pre-installed.
What I mean is I prepare a container, I go to tensordock and start my container with some parameter. Tensordock prepares an instance in the background for me, run the container and stop the instance once the container stop.
Pretty cool! I have a project I'm about to launch and I was preparing it for GCP but it would be way cheaper to run it on Tensordock. Plus, I don't need crazy powerful GPU, the RTX4000 are perfect for my usage. Signing up right now and I'll try it this weekend.
Not sure if it’s allowed here but yes, people have been dumping even the most recent arcade games: http://www.emuline.org/forum/28-arcade-pc-dump-loader/
Not officially but you can buy an arcade machine! I own a vewlix blue diamond that I bought last year for $2300 (tax + shipping included).
If you are interested, here is a link to the guy I bought my machine from: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/k-c-game-sale.10993/...
Yes I get at least one of those every day!
Same as you. The language looks nice but despite having tried Elixir multiple times this past 4 years, the tooling and lack of Jetbrains support always makes me stop and run back to Ruby.
Ok my bad then. Thanks! I will take a look and see if it works for me.
Funny. I'm working on a specific issue with GCP GKE Autopilot. I'm running a bunch of workloads every day with 1 pod per client. Each pod has various running time and I wanted to know the pod cost per client.
I tried to use Kubecost but could not find any option at all to do what I wanted. My labels never appeared on the Kubecost UI. It's funny now to see an article about labels knowing that Kubecost itself doesn't seem to support them.
Sad story but a good side effect of that is you can now buy one of these arcade machine for a good price.
I bought a vewlix diamond a few months ago for $2k. Something I never thought possible a few years ago.
Game center are closing but if you are motivated, and not afraid to spend countless hours of research, cleaning, figuring out manual guide in japanese,… now is a good time to own one of those aracde machine before they completely disappear!

Congrats on making the dumbest business decision ever made!
Ah perfect! I really wanted to play Genshin Impact on my M1 MBA!
This is cool. Exactly the product I wanted for hosting my side projects without paying the exorbitant price for a MySQL instance on AWS or GCP.
I'm french and say 'no' all the time. I suppose I am a good software engineer then.
This is awesome. I hope http://rubyonjets.com/ will use all the new functionnality we saw this morning, including the lambda layers.
Is there a way on this release to create auto-scale rules like on RDS?
This comes just in time when I needed to replace an old scraper!
Does it have to run on an instance or can we also use a serverless environnement?
Got my H1B with a wet reckless offense (still a DUI I think). No question asked at the embassy. I even figured out later that I went to the embassy while having a warrant (lawyer never went to court because he died 2 days before).
It doesn’t mean you need to drink and drive or that it will apply to you, I think I just went crazy lucky that day at the embassy.
Which is 100% normal. What entitle you to use the toilet for free? Someone will eventually have to clean after you and it costs money.
Even in the US you cannot just walk into every bars and restaurants and use their toilets for free...
On iOS if you add the japanese keyboard and press the bottom left button on that keyboard you have access to a huge list of Kaomoji.
I’m using an Akitio node 3 with a 1070 on a 2016 15” Macbook Pro. I’m using my mac and macos to work during the day. When I go home, I start windows and plug my egpu to play.
It’s really easy to use on widnows, mostly plug & play. It works so well that I stopped using my old gaming machine.
Main issue though is that you need to plug it to the left thunderbolt 3 port on your mac or the egpu doesn’t work. It also doesn’t work if you plug any other usb-c devices on the right ports. My solution for that is to use a usb-c <-> usb-a hub, plugged on 1 of the 2 usb-c left port, to plug my external ssd and gaming keyboard.
There was something like that in North of France last century. The coal mining companies constructed a lot of houses for their employees (wikipedia page, in french https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coron_(urbanisme)).
It's definitely not bad. It provided poor miners with a decent place to live. Today a lot of them are still here, renovated and retired miners still live in them, most of them for free (my grandparents for example).
Automated censorship is what pisses me off the most about messenger.
I’m a old enough now to be able to privately share whatever I want to my friend. Yes Facebook, sometimes I want to purposely send a porn link to my friend!
If he's skilled enough he can build a clone/android that looks better than him and sends it marry rich old ladies ;-)

I made an app a year ago. I did it in an afternoon with 0 experience in mobile apps, using Rails + turbolinks ios & Android. It's really crappy but it generates $150/month. Not bad for the time invested.
To improve my english I listened to a lot of Country and Rap music. This way I kinda learn a lot of slang words and expression.
First job in the states my coworkers weren’t really talkative. I used to go to a stripclub during the weekends. Trust me your brain will be more than motivated to learn english when you need to talk to half nudes girls haha.
Kinda suprised when I see title like that on HN that not so many people are talking about Crystal https://crystal-lang.org. Basically Ruby with C performances.
So far I’ve been more convinced by Crystal than Elixir as the next language for a Ruby developer.
I will definitely invest in a washlet.
Any link for this smart faucet?
